$2.00 margaritas on Tuesdays make La Fonda the place to be. Great margaritas and wonderful appetizers. Try the queso flameado (comes flaming to your table) with corn tortillas. YUMMY and a great way to take the edge off after a hard day at work. More

I've been dining at La Fonda for more than 40 years. Every time I visit San Antonio, I make it a priority to eat there. Their tender beef fajitas taste like seasoned filet mignon. And their shrimp quesadillas are to die for! But my all-time favorite dish is their cheese enchiladas. Be sure to ask for onions! More

This restuarant is our family's favorite, the food is consistently excellent and the staff has been there for a long time. We especially enyoy Virginia who knows every family member's favorite item. The atmosphere is pleasant, the monthly entertainment very enjoyable, daily continuous service is very convenient, Tuesday Margaritas are a great treat. Our favorite SA Mexican Restaurant, always trying... More

This was possibly one of the worst dinning experiences I have ever had. First let's talk about the decor. Mismatched furniture, even outdoor plastic chairs we used at tables. I agree with one of the last reviews. Most of the clientel is very old, and caucasian. The waitstaff are forced to wear horrible outfits that look so tacky that you... More

We were a group of about 20, arrived at 6:00, didn't get to order until almost 7:00. Instead of tables, we were seated on a long long bench, like convicts in a prison, and kept waiting for over two hours before the food arrived. The room was dark, no windows, poor lighting, a wall made of dark colored glass circles.... More

This place has the most bland mexican food I've ever had. The clientele all looked to be about 70 years old and caucasian. Not only was the food bland but the bathrooms were broken and you had to use a port o potty outside in the parking lot. The service was good and the food reasonable, so if you need... More

I dont mind trying new places and if problems do occur, the staff is nice about it. Thing is, I came here after reading reports on yelp.com saying this was a great place to eat at. Here's my experience. I ordered just plain enchilladas, no sides and I was charged as the full amount when the final bill came. I... More

I agree with the last review, this supposed Tex-Mex establishment serves large portions of relatively bland food. The waitstaff are colorfully dressed, but the place is dark and dingy. I have to admit, however, the prices are very reasonable. This is definitely not the kind of place to take someone out for a special meal. I will not return. More
