CFS supposed to be great. BS! Wrong meat, they use ground meat inside of a fair amount of breading. Other dishes are tex-mex, it's San Antonio...you could do better.

Alamo Cafe is one of the best places in for Tex Mex food in San Antonio. From the fresh made tortillas to the refreshing margaritas sto the sizziling fajitas, you can't go wrong with any item on the menu. Either I-10 or HWY 281 site outstanding.

the food was great, everything fresh, home made tortillas, agree it is touristy but hey I am a tourist so worked well, will go back for sure. Loved the fountains and just all around nice experience, lots of food for the money.

Eat here about once a month. This is great texmex food in a great environment with friendly wait staff. Would highly recommend here. This is where the locals go for texmex cooking.

Please go to Taco Cabana for this type of food. You pay to much for this fast-food quality, sit-down restaraunt wanna-be.

This is a great place to eat. It has good Mexican Food and what I consider a great chicken fried steak. Not a whole bunch of batter and little meat. One who specializes in Chicken Fries will know what I'm talking about. Give this place a try.

Back in SA for a visit, 7 years after moving to the northeast. A distinct lack of Alamo Cafe restaurants in Pennsylvania determined our dining location our first evening in town. This location in North Central SA has such a lovely setting in among the live oaks, too!
Great chips, great salsa (though less of a "bite" than I remembered)...
