Lovely little house that has been converted into a museum and cafe next door to the Pioneer Flour Mill. This was the home of the Guenther family who started the flour mill way back when. It was raining so had lunch indoors but the room was so cheerful and the wait staff so pleasant we didn't mind not eating outdoors.... More

When my wife and I were planning our weekend in San Antonio, Guenther House for breakfast was high on my food list based on the reviews on this site. Needless to say, we were not dissapointed. We made it there late on a Sunday (around 1:30) so it was more of a late lunch than a breakfast, but I still... More

When we visit San Antonio the last place we visit is this restautant before we leave. We have eaten here over 20 times. It is located at the Pioneer Flour Mill on the San Antonio River and on the new South extention of the River Walk. Great breakfast and or pastry (we have only had breakfast). More

Best restaurant we have been to in San Antonio. We sat outside, overlooking the river. It was lush, quiet, and relaxing. The food was amazing. We had a sticky bun, which was dense and fresh. Note that the buns ate very large! When you eat it, you can taste the subtle notes of nutmeg and, I think, allspice. We also... More

It was a warm afternoon, we sat outside, very pleasant. Service was great and with a smile, although that is pretty usual in the USA! I went for a more traditional breakfast, breakfast potatoes, bacon and eggs, whilst my friend had local pancakes with eggs, these were made from their flour. I had been recommended to try their biscuits, but... More

We were from out of the area and friends brought us here for breakfast. We grabbed a cup of coffee and then took a beeper and took a stroll around the neighborhood to see the stately homes. The service was good from the waffles, bacon, to eggs Benedict to the quiche. More

We have been going to the Guenther House for a long time and have always enjoyed the beauty of the grounds and history of the location. We just visted last month for lunch with friends from out of town. I was very surpised with the bad attitude of the girl who sat us. She might have nbeen having a bad... More

Had the black cherry turnover which was tasty. The cinnamon bun was awesome. Hard not to order the sticky bun. They also sold me some peach pecan butter. More

I am concerned seeing many flies accompany our meal. Usually where there is one you may find thousands in the kitchen or pantry. Just wondering? We experienced good service and food in spite of the flies. More
