Crave their Stelle bread with caraway seeds. All the pastries are fresh, and not skimpy. Good buy.

Think of your favorite thing about Germany (and it better be the dark crusty yummy bread) and you're sure to find it here. It was so nice to see all the German breads and pastries, especially since I'm from NY and all we have are Italian bakeries, blech! They had delicious pretzel rolls, hazelnut bread, and these delicious Nutella shortbread...

Being German and growing up with a dad who was a baker, I am very spoiled when it comes to German bread. I can only recommend this awesome bakery!!! It's worth a trip just to load up on the fresh breads, which are ideal to freeze and throw back in the oven when you're ready for it. My tip, CALL...

We also took with us some Strawberry Tort, Cheesecake, Apple Strudel, Apple pie and Cheese Strudel.
Don't...

I am an Islander and frequent this place often. I usually stock up on a couple pieces of pie to take home, as my daughter loves their strawberry pie. I split it up so that it will last a couple of days. I love the sweet pretzel bread with coffee for breakfast. Also, the apple strudel is to die for....

After reading the other reviews on TripAdvisor, we had to try it. Once we had a look at all of our options, we couldn't decide and ended up buying breakfast AND lunch to go. Both the sweet and savory selections were delicious. There was a wide selection of breakfast danish and five different kinds of fruit strudel. My husband and...

Wife and I tried the German omelets for breakfast. If this was all we tried, the rating would have been a two. They seemed nicely made, but just not to our taste. HOWEVER, we got a poppy seed pastry and a cream cheese struedel to go. These were both excellent. Going to head back before we go to get some...

My family really enjoyed our visit to the German Bakery on the Island. This place is so charming. I have spent time in Germany and this place is just like being back there. I had a slice of rhubarb pie that was delicious. My cappacino was perfect. My friend that was with us got a loaf of bread to take...

I just stumbled on JB's while waiting at the traffic light just beyond it, otherwise, I would have never noticed it. The parking lot was full, and it was 9:30 in the morning. Curiosity got the better of me, and I'm so glad it did. The bakery is loaded with wonderful, fresh items: streudal, dry coffee pastries made from a...
