Actually visited the Red Iguana 2, just around the corner from the Red Iguana. The place was packed and rockin'. Great friendly atmosphere and wonderful food. We saw it featured on "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives". The four of us had three different moles which were all great and all unique...one a little hot, one a little sweet and one earthy.... More

Expansive menu and new specials all the time. Fried ice cream is different than I've had anywhere else. So many good things to eat and not a big enough stomach for it all. More

I had the Salmon Chimichanga, which was a daily special. It was really quite good. The home made chips and salsa served before the entrees was also noticeably better than most Mexican places I have been. Service was pretty good - even though we had to wait 20 minutes for a table (popular place!), but once seated we ordered quickly... More

A local eatery. Not fine dining atmosphere, but a great meal and an education. Our waiter brought a sampler of 7 kinds of moles. Amarillo, verde, negro and others. They also had a chile relleno special. And they were very special. We would go back in a heartbeat. We might get 1 order and split. We left lots of food... More

We go there for my Grandson's birthday each year and the food is OK but not great. Value of the meals seems high for the area. This said, the food is good and I expect that I will be there again next year More

Best atmosphere. The mexican food is average, but the drinks, hole-in-the-wall ambiance, and service are awesome! Plan time to wait on weekends--there is usually a line out the door. More

This is the best Mexican food I've ever had, and I grew up in Southern California where half the restaurants are Mexican and we ate Mexican at home several times a week. I think the Mole Negro here is probably my favorite dish, but it's all good; it's even better than what I had in Oaxaca, Mexico, where the Mole... More

I'm from Texas and grew up on Tex-Mex, which has it's detractors, but one thing about Tex-Mex is that it is all about layers of flavor. Living in WA State now, Mexican food is boring and bland...same traditional ingredients, often very fresh and good quality, but NO FLAVOR. Well, Red Iguana layers flavor on top of flavor...everything, from their margaritas... More

This is a popular place with all the locals in SLC. The menu is amazing and the quality is really high, but the prices are reasonable. More
