Description: Forage is an upscale modern American restaurant set in an intimate and simple remodeled home. Our cuisine is made from the best ingredients we can find in our area including vegetables, eggs, and pastured meats from small producers as well as things gathered by hand from the wild. Inspired by what is around us, each night we create a fixed price menu meant to evoke the seasons and how they change. We blend heritage, tradition, refinement, and modern technique to bring you an experience that is as comforting and reassuring as it is exciting.

Step one, see the documentary El Bulli to prepare yourself for this dining experience. Step two, make reservations at Forage in Salt Lake City. Step three, be prepared to be blown away by the service and experience of Forage. Expensive? YES. Worth it. YES. Save up if you have to. An extra ordinary world class dining experience! More

Prepare to spend a long, long evening and some serious bucks ($500 for four of us) on an adventurous presentation that seems to take years and years. It's a good thing we're all great talkers. Each course is an itty bitty offering of maybe an inch or two of very tasty food, ceremoniously preceded by The Explanation (e.g. "And here,... More

A few caveats - this was a last minute bday trip to SLC and my bf and I really didn't know people there and where to go. We went to a few places - Bambara (we stayed at the Kimpton - and they had good brunch), Copper Onion (miss), Naked Fish (meh). This was by far the best place we... More

We were more than pleasantly satisfied with the service and food at Forage. The kicker on top of the amazingly creative dishes (that were still very recognizable) was having some of the dishes served by the chefs themselves. Made us feel at home, but more personally attached to the food that was made with such effort. Small staff of servers... More

I can only assume from the reviews here that many of the reviewers are under 30 or have never been outside of Utah in their life. The food was often tepid, under or overcooked, and the non-stop precious descriptions of the doll's food plates from the server were a flashback to the faddy restaurants of the eighties. "Elk cheeks nestling... More

As I was planning my first visit, I did not expect to write anything other than a five-star review of Forage. Unfortunately, although the aspirations of the chef-owners are clearly high, they have not reached the level that I would have expected of a restaurant of this food format or price. The restaurant itself is in a small converted house... More

This restaurant is unique to SLC. The owner-chef team combine forces to take on the Great Basin better than the rest. You must submit to the prix fix menu, but it is one that comes with choices. For example, the last time I went, I did not want dessert, and instead asked for an additional main course, after a quick... More

Arguably the best restaurant in SLC, they creatively used unique and local ingredients in a sophisticated manner. The treats between courses were great surprises. More

My wife and I returned to Forage with high expectations after a fantastic meal about 6 months ago. Our second trip turned out to be a mistake. Please take my criticisms in the context of occurring sequentially over the course of an evening--any individual complaint on its own would not have been a big deal. Additionally, most of our complaints... More
