Description: Celebrating over 16 years as one of Atlanta's favorite restaurants, South City Kitchen Midtown specializes in contemporary Southern cuisine with a sophisticated twist. Combining the energy of Atlanta with the warmth of a Southern home, the restaurant is nestled in an updated, historic bungalow on the city's famous Crescent Avenue. Dine on local specialties such as shrimp and grits, buttermilk fried chicken, she-crab soup, fried green tomatoes and banana pudding while enjoying the view of our exhibition kitchen or the Atlanta skyline on one of the best patios in the city. This truly is dining the way the new South intended.

I was in Atlanta for a business trip, and we were looking for somewhere nearby to eat and just stumbled upon this place. It was really good! We went at lunch time, but I think that it would be great to go there for dinner. You've got to try the biscuits. It's incredibly close to a lot of things in... More

I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of my trip to South City Kitchen. The food was superb, the drinks strong, and the service was excellent-Alicia made helpful suggestions and was attentive. We were even able to dine outside on a decent night(probably not a summer option), which was a welcome relief after a day in a conference room.

I love South City Kitchen. First stuck my head through the door in 1998 - and it's kept up it's atmosphere and reputation for fine southern cooking with a contemporary twist through them passin' years ya'll! In the past, my addiction to this eatery was based on fried green tomatoes (that's toeMAHtoes for us Brits) and fine buttermilk fried chicken.... More

We had a great fried chicken dinner with friends and a superb waitress. Would go back anytime. Walking distance to art center and hotels.

This restaurant looks just like a house: the porch and living room are dining areas, and the upstairs (which had a private event occurring) is also a dining area. The menu has a good selection of southern staples: fried green tomatoes, shrimp and grits, fried chicken, but also many other entrees. I had the shrimp and grits which was very... More

Fried green tomatos, fried chicken were so delicious. We had great service and because we had an early dinner, got a lot of attention from our waitress, but not overly so. Really nice atmosphere and will go again when in ATL. To top it off, the banana pudding... wow-out of this world! A must!

I arrived early for dinner but the waiter let me stay in and have a water. My waitress was very attentive. The bread was delicious, I especially liked the muffins with corn pieces in them. I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken with potatoes and collards. Delicious! The chicken was so moist and crispy! I also appreciated that this entree was... More

My wife and I have been stopping here for the last 6 years on our way from Chicago to Florida. Every single time we stop here for what has turned into our traditional dinner and it gets better every time! Not only is the food consistent but they actually remember us! There are times when we dont have time to... More

A good friend (and Atlanta resident) took me to dinner at South City Kitchen Midtown during a business trip I made to the city. What a fabulous meal!! Even being on a diet didn't hamper enjoying out-of-this-world food. I drooled first at the idea of the southern fried chicken (my dining pal assured me it was divine),but I took the... More

Hard to hear your companions at this place. The food was quite good, although perhaps unsurprising. The chicken is wonderful, the collards just good, the trout was quite nice. A lemon dessert was very good. For traditional southern fare, it's all very good. It's just that traditional southern fare is also pretty bland. Did not think the fried green tomatoes... More
