Bistro Bobette is a small upscale cafe in the Shockoe Slip neighborhood of Richmond. We stopped in for lunch on a weekday and were immediately seated. The menu is small but interesting. We both had steak salad (a daily special) and were not disappointed. The service was attentive but not hovering. I would definitely return, perhaps for dinner.

We were blow ins from the nearby hotel and approached with a bit of trepidation - no booking and no recommendation - but all was well. We were served by a waiter with a British accent. It was a bit unexpected in y'all country, but he knew his stuff. The charcuterie plate was straight from France, a blue, a washed... More

In town for one evening we visited Bistro Bobette based on reviews here on TA and elsewhere. The Bistro Bobette absolutely met our expectations in every regard. The Foie gras starter with grilled peaches and balsamic was delicious and rich enough to share among three. Cheese platter was a nice sampling of various French cheeses (our collective favorite was the... More

Visiting Richmond on business and parked in historic area. Bistro Bobette was first restaurant I spotted. Perfectly lovely welcome from hostess/waitress. This person offered terrific service. My guest and I were seated just before the rush of lunch and we were served a less than mediocre meal before the server was overwhelmed. I ordered a lobster salad sandwich. A side... More

My Friend, her son, and I were strolling down the avenue looking for a place to eat. We came upon this French Bistro, went inside, and asked if we could get table. At first we were informed that we needed reservations because they were all booked. However, he were persisted and asked the Lady in charge of seating us and... More

There are a lot of good restaurants in Richmond. The city is big on food, and has many wonderful places to eat. But there are only a handful of truly excellent restaurants, and Bistro Bobette is one of these. Their menu is quintessentially French, but with a lighter modern touch. Don't think of it as stereotypical heavy French fare. The... More

For me the Bistro Bobette was reminiscent of a Parisian neighborhood cafe which is the reference point for the 5th star. Cozy with a good menu, better than typical wine list, and good service. Four of us enjoyed cocktails, appetizers, entree, dessert, and a bottle of wine for about $300 which we felt was a darn good deal. There wasn't... More

I hosted a baby shower here. It is a quintessentially Richmond place in look and feel, and quintessentially French menu. Wendy and Francis were generous, accommodating and wonderful to work with. The food was incredible and I can’t wait to go back for lunch and dinner when I'm next in Richmond.
