It is difficult for me to give an average review to this restaurant. Somethings about the food are quite good( a memorable root vegetable soup); but others are quite deplorable(a ballotine that tasted only of garlic rather than of chicken). A beautiful bottle of Savigny; but terrible desserts. The room is so charming; and the service is very gracious and... More

We chose this restaurant because of the good reviews on it. We were not disappointed. The place is small and the decor simple. The food and service were great leaving nothing to be desired. The portions are of good size - not too big, nor too small. None of the six items we had was not delicious. Worth the trip. More

I was pleasantly surprised to find that TW had a vegetarian tasting meal, so for my wife's bday, we went and spent 3 hours tasting, testing, and relishing in perfection. This was nearly the best restaurant experience we've ever had, and probably Most expensive (tasting menus are something like 7-courses so for the two of us the meal was about... More

I had decided to stop commenting on restaurants in the Boston area, where I live. There are just too many good (and bad) ones, and anyhow there are plenty of reviewers. But I have to make an exception for TW Food, where we have been regulars since the month it opened. Located in an out of the way neighborhood in... More

Many years ago, my wife and I spent some time travelling and eating our way around France. Guided by the English writer Richard Binns, we sought out small, chef-owned and operated establishments where the guy's name was on the door and he was in the kitchen. Many of them were already legends in the culinary world, others were young and... More

This was the real find of our Boston visit, and as good as we have found in New England in over twenty years of visiting from the UK. We had the prix fixe menu, and it was well worth it. The bread was flavoursome, always a good sign in a better quality restaurant. The food was really well prepared, and... More

I went with my husband for my birthday dinner. We had three courses each, all delicious, and Bronwyn, the chef's wife, was welcoming and helpful as we ordered. This is amazing, highest-end cooking in a small, warm friendly setting. It's a terrific combination. My husband picked a wine he wanted to try and Bronwyn warned him it might not go... More

Owned by a delightful young couple who do a great job with mostly local ingredients, but too expensive to visit often and too quiet to feel really festive. When I'm going to spend that much for a special occasion, I'm more likely to go to a large bustling place like Cragie on Main. More

Hands down this was the best meal we have had in a LONG time. We went on a Tuesday and had the dinner paired with wines from the south of France. Just spectacular from beginning to end. More

Delicious, inventive and attentive. Just wonderful. As far as the tobacco ice cream that everyone keeps mentioning - I guess... unusual, though honestly - not that good. Get it anyway and tell everyone you did - you'll seem cooler. More
