Oh my goodness, the food here is exquisite! It's like someone walked out back, went into the garden, pulled a few plants, and made them into heaven. I have no idea how the chef works his magic, but he is able to structure the food in a way that you taste -- really taste -- the origin of the food,... More

We thought the food would be really excellent after reading the reviews. It was ok, but the portions were small and it was no big deal. The special of a taco with lime cabbage was not appealing. The service was good, but it did not make up for the overall experience. Perhaps we were there on an off night; I... More

Visited in October 2011 after recommendation from an ex staff member. Wow, what a welcome and such great imaginative food. The chefs know there stuff here. Marilyn, Steve & the staff certainly gave us Royal treatment. We enjoyed it so much we returned for another two nights (we only had 5 nights in Boston) so I think that speaks for... More

Upstairs there is a nice dining area a bar. In spite of what you have heard about Bartley's burgers, the Cellar has the best! Served on a pretzel bun it is huge, fresh, and don't forget the famous truffle fries. Stop in downstairs later for a beer. Say hello to Quniten the bar keep. More

We had a beer and a glass of wine, both fantastic. We wanted entrees initially, but got full off their amazing tapas sized dishes. Chickpea fries, homemade tater tots, and duck confit. Cute, small place. More

We travel often and have ate in fine restaurants in the US and abroad and I can tell you that Garden at the Cellar competes in quality with the best. The atmosphere is nothing special but the food more than makes up for it. I even forgive them for not offering dessert on the menu so that they can concentrate... More

Took advice from others and went with the rosemary truffle fries - SO delicious. You must order them if you go. Hands down favorite item, who doesn't like shoestring fries scented with the taste of heaven? We also tried out the homemade tater tots and chickpea fries, also both delicious, but the truffle fries still stood out. The margarita flatbread... More

...and indeed, you should! But don't eat in the lower/bar area unless you want to scream at your companions. Fair warning. The upstairs, however, looked lovely. And the food was very, very good. I had the aforementioned truffle fries - which were AWESOME. Thin-cut, and you could not only taste but SEE the truffle pieces. Excellent. The tomato soup and... More

Wow. Truffle Rosemary Fries. You must order them. Chickpea fries were good but salty. Pig Newtons (pork & fig in biscuit-like pastry) delicious! Foie gras w/doughnuts was a unusual but excellent combination of flavors & textures - pillowy, creamy on the inside sugary doughnut meets seared, perfectly cooked foie gras. Tatertots were not to our liking as they were too... More
