The food was very good. Service was decent. We started with two different salads - the Caesar and the warm goat cheese. Both were very good. For entrees, we decided on small plates - a delicious scallop and shrimp, wrapped in pancetta, over potato mousseline; and a soft shell crab that was a special of the day. Again, both were... More

Excellent restaurant in downtown Springfield. I had a dish that included a pork chop, bean, and wilted greens. This unusual entree was excellent, although it could have included more wilted greens. The shortcake with berries desert was one of the best deserts I have ever had.

Okay, this Restaurant is fabulous. From the location, (although hard to find a place to park, be careful) to the excellent cuisine to the wait staff. And the bartender put on Public Television, and not some lame Sports Channel or The News. Thank you sooooo much!!!!!! I had an excellent mushroom Miso Soup with Duck Wontons sprinkled on top, it... stopped here for lunch while touring the Lincoln sites. Very nice time. Classy place in a well maintained old building (be sure to go upstairs to the restrooms to see more of the building). Salad and sandwich combo is a nice option. They also have a very nice wine list if you like to enjoy a glass of wine on... More

Old school menu & ambiance but some innovative dishes. Beef Wellington was excellent. By far your best choice in Springfield.

Don't worry Maldaner's...for every person, you put up to it to post positive reviews about your place. Simply to hide the fact that this establishment is RACIST. Will Never cover that fact. And nor would it ever get my business. And I am a caucasian female. I don't support nor tolerate any form of establishment that thinks it's okay to... More

My husband and I enjoyed our dinner at Maldaner's. It's like being transported back to when it was a dinner club and it leaves you feeling like you're a character an an old movie. We loved the atmosphere so much the fact that the food is wonderful seemed like a bonus. And, the food is wonderful.

This restaurant was recommended to us by our cab driver. Being in town for just two days we didn't want to go to the wrong place for dinner. We were not disappointed. As mentioned it has wonderful ambiance. Which puts one in a pleasant mood. I had the halibut special and it was cooked to perfection my companion had the... More

Maldaner's is loved by many locals. However, my experience has been very hit or miss with this place. At times it is good. Other times, it has poor service and mediocre food.

I have been to Maldaner's many times over the past 30 years. The food is consistently outstanding as is the service. The atmosphere is a throwback to a bygone era. Use your imagination and you could be back in the early 1900's. The food is fresh and primarily local. My only complaint about Maldaner's is the failure of the chef... More
