I have only been to Cozy Dog once, but I was impressed. It is a great diner if you want a corn dog fix outside of State Fair time. Their fries are good as well, and I love that they have vinegar to top them off with. The inside of the restaurant reminds you of a nostalgic diner, and it... More
The Cozy Dog came highly recommended by so many people however I can't figure out what the fuss is about. My family tried the Cozy Dog while in Springfield to visit the Lincoln sites. We of course had the Cozy Dogs. They weren't as I was expecting. I know they are fresh, saw him make them however I've tasted a... More
An old route 66 stop with the atmosphere befitting it! Its definitely a tourist place as a bus of European tourist came in after us (luckily it was after or we would have had to try or luck elsewhere). Had the cozy dogs, they were corn dogs, not sure the were special but we did get enough food to fill... More
If you love corn dogs this is great. Since we were looking for the unusual or unique on this trip this was the place to stop. Love the route 66 stuff inside. It was easy to get to. We were there around 6:30pm on a Saturday Evening and it was busy but not crowded. Very enjoyable stop. The cozy dogs... More
They say they invented the corn dog, and it's a good corn dog, but they also have other food available. It has the Route 66 style, and Route 66 memorabilia for sale. Way on the south side of Springfield, but if you have time, you should try it.
Went on our way to St Louis. Stopped by at lunch hour and it was packed. Service is efficient and quick. We got their famous cozy dogs and fries. There was more than enough food at a very reasonable price. A fun place to stop and the foods good. Great historical route 66 atmosphere. The soda is self serve which... More
Do not leave Springfield without having a Cozy Dog! They are delicious! If you ever had a corn dog at a state or county fair as a child way back in the '60's or earlier these taste like they did back then. A hint of a sweet flavor in the cornmeal and deep fried perfectly on a very delicious dog.... More
We researched diners to visit on our trip to Springfield and love to stop at rt 66 attractions. The home of the corn dog did not disappoint! Lots of memorabilia. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Counter service and speedy food delivery.
Lots of fried food. Atmosphere was good, for Route 66 memorable. It is the home of the Corn dog on a stick - kids enjoyed, as did my husband. Good place to stop for a fun lunch, but if you are looking for anything healthy on the menu, it isn't there.
