No atmosphere, dreadful lasagne, cold chips and expensive beer. Why put an Italian restaurant in a greek fishing town if you aren't Italian and can't cook Italian food?

Have been coming to Sissi for a number of years and eaten at Mamma Mias several times in recent visits. During those visits the food was always excellent and the service genuinely friendly and efficient! Had read some negative reviews about the restaurant this year so was not sure what to expect. We went the first night of our holiday...

we came back to Mamma Mia last week after great memories from 2 years ago and positive reviews on TrIpAd and found very average restaurant, basic wine selection, and Italian food really not at it best.
The ingredients are very poor and the taste is not more than ok.
The price was fair so at least we didn't feel very...

I felt like a fraud going to an Italian restaurant in Greece! But the other restaurants in Sissi we felt where pretty poor and largely aimed at the masses all with identical! menus which really doesnt represent Greek or Cretan cuisine at all. With the exception of Remezzos which was split into 2 restaurants. One Greek and one italian.

One of the best for food and service both at lunch and dinner.
Lovely waterside dining but with inside option on cooler nights.
Staff friendly and helpful -provided a small helping of pasta when requested.
Nice apetiser bread and dips and complimentry port sweetens the bill.

There are a dozen small restaurants along the quay in Sissi port and there's very little to choose between them - they all have fabulous views, particularly of the sunset but the mainly Greek food is, at best, ok.
Mamma Mia is a good change from the Greek stuff and they even do the Greek stuff better than the Greeks....

We had three fantastic meals here. They were one of the only restaurants to have fresh vegetables and we tried the pasta, pizza and meat dishes and were even given free bread and desserts when they were busy even though we didn't book and would not have considered it busy waiting 15 minutes for food! Everyone at apartments had tried...
