Save some money and eat in the bar instead of the restaurant. We waited to get a table in the restaurant but when we looked at the menu the prices more than we wanted to pay for a late lunch. However, our waiter was very understanding and suggested we move to the bar for their happy hour specials. The grilled... More

We grabbed some fish and chips for a quick lunch before our Segway tour of Seattle. The pier location is great. Take your food down to the small tables by the water and enjoy the entertaining gulls.

My wife and I went to Ivar's because it is supposed to be one of the best restaurants on the Seattle waterfront. We were greatly disappointed. Ivar's is overpriced and incredibly average. I ordered the fish chowder and the Copper River salmon combo and my wife ordered the shrimp cocktail and the acres of clams. The clams were pretty tasty,... More

My folks came to the PNW in the 1940s and soon after found Ivar’s Acres of Clams. It became a family favorite early on and every time we drove to Seattle or passed through, we stopped even if for only a bowl of chowder. It became the go-to spot for birthdays, anniversaries and friends from out of town. Over time... More

If you live in Seattle you probably know the system to order but I was baffled. After finally yelling out my order, receiving it, I then tried to pay. Did everyone actually pay? The cod fish and chips were as promised, perfect. Will I go back? Maybe if I see some system I can follow.

We had been to Ivar's in Mukilteo and really enjoyed it - so we decided to try the one in Seattle. And enjoyed it again. We were seated in a booth at first. The upholstery made it impossible for anyone under 6feet to sit comfortably and enjoy a conversation and meal. So we asked to change tables and were accommodated... More

Visited last week with some friends, and since it was my first time in Seattle, I wanted to grab lunch somewhere that was unique. Ivar's seemed like the perfect spot down on the waterfront. I ordered the fish and chips, thinking it would be great like every other place I've had it in the Pacific NW. Well, I was a... More

I was hungry for fried clams and theirs are hard to beat. Ivar' s is a local chain that is all over the greater Seattle-Tacoma area, Our favorite is the one by the Mulkiteo Ferry as we can get a to-go of clam chowder and anything else, depending upon the line at the to-go window and the wait time for... We had a table by the window and watches the ferries come and go. What better way to enjoy Seattle? Oh yeah, add delicious food. The white clam chowder is delicious, the fried clams may be the best ever, and the crab cakes are wonderful. Even the side Caesar's salad was a cut above the norm. All in all, we... More

Happy hour is from 3 PM 'til close, and their large bar with table service offers $4 regional drafts and lots of discounted foods on the bar menu. Favorites: half-dozen oyster shooters for $4.50; large plate of calamari for $7, and a great blackened salmon w/caesar salad for $7. Great watching the ferries load up and unload all afternoon until... More
