Stopped for lunch during a recent trip to Seattle. After walking the Pike Market for a couple hours, we stopped in a Max's for lunch. Two locals just leaving reccomended the food (especially the eggs benedict). I ordered the eggs benny, and it was excellent. The chicken croissant & salad gor rave reviews as well. Great view of Seattle waterfront... More

Such a surprise! Find your way through dark, historic hallways at the Pike Place Market and suddenly you are enjoying panoramic views of Puget Sound and, at the same time, European character, quality and charm. Elegant but not stiff...and the food is amazing! This intimate dining experience has apparently been here for more than 30 years and owner-operated since '97.... More

A French restaurant in the Pike market. We had excellent oysters followed by a seafood stew and a Northwest seafood salad. All were excellent, as was the bread. We had a view of the harbor. The young waiter got flustered and forgot to put in our verbal order so we waited quite a while until he realized his error. No... More

Underwelmed with lunch. Hardly any variety and overpriced. The service was slow and inattentive. Took 1 1/2 hours for my dad and i to get our food and eat it. Although the food was good, nothing blew me away, and portions were too small. My northwest salad had maybe a single crab claw on it. The smoked salmon that came... More

This is an excellent traditional French restaurant hidden away at the Pike Place Market. It has a sweeping view of the water, as well as exceptional food, excellent service and a great wine list. This is a great place for a dinner date, a birthday, an anniversary or special night out. You will not be disappointed if you love French... More

Having lived in Seattle for 20 years, I was surprised to discover Maximilien's. It is a bit hard to find, keep walking past Flying Fish and the Market Tea shop. Tucked in is Maximilien's - with a small bistro feel, beautiful views upstairs and downstairs, very attentive friendly service and great food. The onion soup was perfect - very rich,... More

As much as I enjoy and admire the current trend in cooking in which simplicity and freshness are paramount, there is something about classic French cuisine that is simply irresistible, and I know of no better place in Seattle to enjoy that culinary heritage than Maximillien’s in the Pike Place Market. I mean, where else can you get a Croque... More

We tried Maximilien in the Market for Happy Hour on a gorgeous Seattle sunny day and were not disappointed. It had been a rough day and so in lieu of finding a spot in my normal favorite Pike Place garage I splurged and let the valet deal with my car. Very happy I did that! It was hot enough that... More
