We went there on Friday night and was greeted by a friendly hostess. We had a great meal with good service. We feel this is one of the best restaurants we went to on our trip. We would definitely go back if ever in the area again.

For a small town I wasn't expecting much. Service was nice, atmosphere was good, menu options were decent, the cream of mushroom soup....to die for. The filet mignon, although a little pricey (considering you can buy a 2.5 acre chunk of land here for under $10k) was truly EXCELLENT. Cooked to perfection, thick cut, very flavourful (for a filet) and...

Large portions. We had enough for lunch the next day. The beef stroganoff was made with filet mignon which was very tender. Unfortunately the only pasta options were penne or linguine and I prefer stroganoff with flat wide noodles. Still, the dish was very good. The hanger steak was also cooked just right and came with mashed potatoes and vegetables....

Absolutely the best Filet Mignon that we have had in over 30 years. I don't care how much it costs, when I order a Filet, I expect it to be tender and flavorful. This filled the bill and was cooked to perfection. The service was perfect; the atmosphere was great. Highly recommend.
A great find. The creme brulee was excellent and compared very favourably with ones we have enjoyed in Paris, France. Service was quite good, and we were given a dirty glass (changed immediately). The food is to be recommended.
We saw the sign and heard from co-workers that it was good; and we thoroughly enjoyed it!! The waiter was excellent; he recommended the steak. The bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar was delicious, and we did not order an appetizer. I ordered a glass of Malbec with my steak, and it was perfect (and my steak was cooked...

Absolutely delicious food, great service and atmosphere. What a find in this little town in the desert. They even bake their own bread. Ask for the farmers bread, it is to die for. We had Chicken Piccata and the Halibut. Both were great.
I was completely surprised. This IS a fine dining establishment. The food was well above my expectaions and for my part I believe the pricing to be reasonable when the quality of the product is considered. My wife's steak was perfectly medium rare. The calamari and the mushroom soup deserve special mention. I would have preferred a bit more dressing...

This is a great little Italian restaurant with lots of variety in the menu and some nice wines. I was feeling adventurous (considering we are in the desert) and ordered calimari, it was phenomenal. The prices are a tad steep, but if you want to come the closest you can to a good meal in 29P this is pretty much...

We were in the desert for a couple of days during an LA visit to our son. Looking in the window and at the menu of Bistro 29 we were sceptical. But we'd had our innkeeper in Joshua Tree make a reservation (on a second hand recommendation), had hiked all day, and were hungry. Going the 'simple route' my wife...
