We just returned from N.O. (a week or so before Mardi Gras). Last time we did Acme. It was very good. This time we tried Felix's. I know I am repeating the last ten reviews....Do Not Wait In Line At Acme. It is dark, noisy, and the wooden bar stools are not comfortable. Felix's charbroiled oysters could not be any... More

Right across from Acme, with its eternal lines of tourists. Same menu, faster service, and more authentic feel. Skip the line, and come over. No pretenses, no glitz, and a dozen oysters for under a buck each! More

My wife and I are locals who have made our rounds around all the notable restaurants in the Quarter. We've passed Felix's 300 times and never stopped in; if we want po-boys or oysters and we're in that area, we'll go to Acme or Desire. Yes, Acme has a line. Its because its good. Not 4 star, but its always... More

Went to Felix's which is across the street from Acme Oyster Bar. There was a huge line at Acme and we didn't want to wait. Felix's was just as good and it was cheaper. The waiter, Roland, was great and the owner, Adrian, was so great to us. We had the oysters and he asked if we liked grilled oysters.... More

We took advantage of a recommendation from the local 'menu guide' and went to try their oysters rockefeller, etc. OH MY - the raw oysters certinly beat what we had the night beforeat the Acme Oyster bar, but the rockefellers were unbelievably delicious! Adrian and Ronan were the best manager and waiter ever. We loved, loved our food, the staff,... More

During vacation in NOLA I wanted go for oysters. Walked over to ACME and the line up was way too long. Felix's was right there across the street, walked up to the standing bar and ordered a dozen raw oysters for $10. The special that night was $10 for the dozen plus a beer. What a deal. It comes with... More

Let me say that we tried the food across the street and it was good but nothing compared to Felix's. My wife has declared that the Chargrilled Oysters at Felix's is the best food she has ever had. I would put it in the top 5 list of things I have ever had. Service was good and there was no... More

This was recommended to us by our friend's family. We chose this place because the hotel had said they had good oysters. Our friend wanted to try them. We ordered about 3 dozen between us. Everyone seemed to like them. The place looks like an old fashioned diner with the men cleaning the oysters in the open behind the counter.... More
