I was very disappointted in our experience. First, there was one waiter to cover every table in the restraunt. Needless to say, his timliness was horrible, not only for us, but for other tables in the restraunt. We did order an appetizer of appetizers- we ordered the fried plantains. They were very good - best part of the meal! They... More

Almost every time we come back to New Orleans, we try to visit this place at least once. It is so difficult to find vegetarian in the Quarter, let alone vegan, that it is really special when out-of-towners find a place like this. They will make just about anything on the menu vegan for you if you just ask. Everything... More

It is worth a walk down the far end of Royal Street to Bennachin. They have a wide choice of African dishes which make for an adventurous meal. Their lunch specials are a real deal, but even the dinner prices are quite reasonable. The decor is very interesting though this is by no means a fancy place, Service a bit... More

This is a great, fun restaurant. The dude working there was friendly and busy. The chicken yasa was big and delicious. The chicken they used must have been a giant! And it was so rich and savory with flavor - the juices were perfect for the cous cous. My girlfriend's bennachin was also really good, especially those greens. We also... More

Everyone at our table loved their food! A truly unique food experience. There was one chef in the kitchen and there were about 12 customers but the wait was well worth it. Try this if you are in the French Quarter, some of the best food ever.

The plates are heaping so be sure to share. Quaint ( code for small and not smart) offbeat place it is worth trying cuisine that is a tad different. We were very pleased with our meals of lamb and broccoli and veal with rice. Short staffed so expect to wait.

Finding anything veagan in NOLA is a challenge. The food was excellent in this 10 table restaurant. Bring your own wine (shop across the street) and enjoy. Walk back to the kitchen and watch them prepare each meal with care and individual attention. This is not a fancy place, but the food is excellent at a great price. Very much... More

We waited quite a bit for our food but it was really nice. It helps understand how African cuisine shaped Louisianan dishes.

...but I was, and positively. If the only thing you want is really good vegetarian fare, this is a terrific destination. If you want to expand your food horizons and take in African dishes, by all means, put this at the top of your list. I haven't sample the entire menu yet, but everything so far is wonderful and well... More

Just a few blocks from Frenchmen street, this African restaurant offered several Veg options. Portions were huge, but beware the spiciness We had: * vegetable soup (good but very spicy) * Thiebujin/african Jambalya (vegan version) -- requested mild -- but was still very spicy * Steamed Tilapia -- good Luckily we had ordered a side dish of FuFu (pounded yams/cassava)...
