My wife and I came here for lunch recently after a friends graduation. The atmosphere is true New Orleans, relaxed and laid back, and it always looks like everyone is having a good time. Our waiter was new so he looked a little nervous. I've been there and done that so I'll cut him some slack. We had the Oysters... More

I have eaten at several Acmes and it’s always a great experience. Recently I stopped into the one on Veterans and ordered the Oysters chargrilled and I would bet money these are the most delicious oysters you will ever eat. My kids even love them. They are brought to the table so hot, the oyster size is huge and they... More

Good family atmosphere without the wait and noise of the French Quarter. Ample seating so you don't feel as rushed to eat as the other location. They have a very attentive staff which helped since we were with a small child. Very speedy food service and the food was AMAZING!!

A friend took us to the Acme Oyster House. We had grilled oysters that were wonderful! My shrimp Po'Boy was great. The husband had a fish dish with a crab sauce that he said was great. We finished up with the bread pudding w/ whiskey sauce and it was scrumptious.

You can spot a true oyster bar when you see four guys working feverishly to prepare mass quantities of fresh oysters. We ordered a dozen and they were outstanding. The shrimp dinner exemplified the taste of freshness. There is something outstanding about the character & unique flavor of Gulf shrimp. My wife had the fish dinner & it was great.... More

I have to admit that we like the Acme in the French Market more, but this place is very good. Perhaps we like it more because of the location in the French Market, where all the action is. This location was great because our hotel was about a half mile away. I had the shrimp and fish plate. The shrimp... More

Wonderful place. The food is excellent. The line is less than desired. It is worth the wait, but I will find alternate food after the first time. The line is outragous. Chargrilled oysters are a "must have".

I know that Drago's Seafood Restaurant is the home of the original chargrilled oysters, but I had also heard about Acme Oyster House and wanted to do a little comparison. My taste test determined that they were both really good, cheesy and scrumptious, but I found that the Acme oysters were a little bigger, and relied less on the cheesiness... More
