....unless you're going because of Emeril's affiliation and you want to impress your friends at home. Sorry folk, I grew up on French cuisine in Europe. Some of you will probably label me a food snob. Some will understand my meaning: there is something called "food culture". Nola is about as far removed from that concept as one can get.... More

Made reservations and ate here for lunch. My husband wasn't that hungry, so he had the barbequed shrimp appetizer. There were 5 shrimp in a brown bbq sauce with a little tiny biscuit. Not worth $12. I had the mussels with shoe string potatoes. There had to be a full pound of them and they were very good. I thought... More

My husband and I recently had lunch at Nola's while in New Orleans for the French Quarter jazz fest. We had a reservation and were seated a little early. Service was solid although not outstanding. We started with the Miss Hay's Stuffed chicken wings which were outstanding! I definitely recommend! For my entree I had the duck confit and fried... More

Just a warning to those interested in bringing children to NOLA, they aren't interested in you! Short on high chairs and charging $12 for a chicken tender kids meal says it all!

My fiance and I stumbled across NOLA when we were walking around and were not expecting to find such a great place for brunch! The food and drinks were amazing - we ended up staying for three hours! Great atmosphere. Service was a tad on the slow side but our water had a great personality! I would absolutely recommend without... More

First, let me point out that I am a lacto-vegetarian and that no doubt colors my world. However, I was seated with three others, two who ordered the burger and one who got the salmon entry without the salmon (stuffed portobello mushroom on a bed or risotto). I had the pizza appetizer. No one seemed impressed by the food, only... More

Food and service were excellent! ( f.w.i.w. Dress code slacks, regular shirt, no tee's.) Waiter (Lance) did a super job, wine list was very extensive (i.e. 5 Sancerres) and food delicious. We had Crab Cake, Gumbo and 'Drum' (a very mild local white fish). Wonderful tastes. Would go back in a heart beat! Interestingly, the restaurant had a cold temp... More

I had a really good dinner here as a single. There was a long wait for tables so i opted to sit at the bar. I had a Sazerac cocktail that was well made and since i wasnt terribly hungry had only an entree. The bartender recommended the smoked duck which was moist, smoky, and slightly sweet. Really good, not... More

At NOLA, We started with the soup of the day, shrimp and corn bisque. So far so good. Members of our party had the: hickory-roasted duck with whiskey-caramel glaze, buttermilk cornbread pudding, haricot verts-fire roasted corn salad, natural jus and candied pecans, buttermilk fried breast of chicken with bourbon mashed sweet potatoes, country ham, cream gravy and sautéed sugar snap peas.... Absolutely wonderful restaurant for the best creole cuisine in the city. Service was awesome, the food impresive. The interior design is basic but food + service makes the difference.
