we had coupons for aunt sally's pralines. The pralines are good, BUT expensive. Box of 6 were $17 at aunt sallys. We passed! I gave the coupon to some other shoppers at the store. Then we bee-lined right to Southern Candymakers.
Pralines were a little more reasonable at Southern Candymakers AND they had a HUGE selection!! Too bad they aren't...

Stopped in here after smelling the wonderful aroma coming out into the street. They were making their pralines, and the smell was great. Candy is a little expensive but the best things usually are...but they are big on letting you try a bite before buying. My favorites were the chocolate/peanut turtles. Mouth is watering just thinking about them!!!!

Southern Candymakers is definitely a must "go-to" shop when in New Orleans. They have a wide variety of chocolate covered nuts, fruit, and pralines. SOOOO good!! You can pick and choose all your favorites and the helpful staff will package them for you to enjoy or bring home as gifts. The little, chocolate alligators are so cute and very tasty.

We get pralines at many different cities and these were the best! The store was full of so many yummy treats. I really wanted to try the chocolate covered strawberries but was to full from dinner. But I put in for a catalog and will definitely be ordering from them!

Pralines are one of those things, like gumbo, that people in New Orleans seem to have varying opinions on. And I Wanted to know....
WHO makes the Best???!!!
Mainly because they are pricey..(18-22 dollars per pound.)
Plus, I've never been here before and if this is my only trip to NOLA, then might as well get the Best.
