Monty'sBlue Plate Diner does everything right. My wife and I ate there earlier this month. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. The food was excellent, much of it from their own gardens or locally sourced. I had an artichoke sandwich which was wonderful. I strongly recommend a trip there.

We really like diners. Especially those with Mediterranean plates. The smell of excellent coffee started out the experience right. The wait was super attentive! Thy blue accoutrements of the blue plate diner made experience complete. They had just enough neon to make me very happy!

We have tried Hubbard Diner and this menu is similar just more vegetarian dishes. Malts are amazing. The chicken in a pie was very good. I had the Cristo. Insides were good however too much French toast. Our server was very good. We would definitely recommend.

The Jalapeño Cheddar bread tasted home made and was delicious. The american fried potatoes were ok, but the MONTY’S BREAKFAST SANDWICH was so good! On it is a a fried egg with applewood smoked bacon, spinach, tomato, and herbed goat cheese on grilled jalapeño cheddar bread. ($8.99)

Always good food, generous portions and fabulous deserts. A wonderful neighborhood meeting place. The eggs benedict and Goddess Meatloaf are favorites.

The Blue Plate Diner (otherwise known as Monty's) has a good variety of casual-style food, great milkshakes, and mouth-watering pies. They are very kid friendly and the staff is great. We are regulars here!

I have come a few times. I really like this place, it has the fell of an old school diner on the inside, complete with a counter that you can eat at and milkshakes. However, the food that they have is modern, with many options for vegetarians and vegans. It makes you feel at home yet serves you food that... More

Came here for a quick dinner before going to a show at the Barrymore and it was perfect. Had a wonderfully extensive gluten-free menu and a lot of creative dishes other than just burgers and fries.

We travel thru Madison several times a year, and seldom ever miss an opportunity to eat at the Blue Plate Diner. In fact, we planned a family trip last year, timing just right to be able to stop for lunch on the way through. Food is excellent, with varied menu. Hot meatloaf sandwich is awesome. Selection of home baked pies... More

This diner looks somewhat like a 1950's diner. It has a huge selection of foods to choose from and I can't recall anything I've had that I didn't like. Also a good selection of yummy desserts.
