It was lively and crowded; large variety of beers. Food was good. Server didn't have a super personality; wasn't horrible, but he seemed to be there because he had to. As a waiter, he could have tried to be a bit more pleasant; after all, it is the business! There were things to keep the under 21 crowd a bit... More

Checked Capital Ale out on a co-workers recommendation. Great selection of beer, both bottle and on tap. Menu was quite good and the burger and stuffed pretzel were tasty. Atmosphere is great. Only drawback was the completely average service. Forgot to order an appetizer and never saw the waiter between the time we ordered and our main course arriving.

Right in the heart of historic Fredricksburg. Outstanding beer selection - draft and bottled. Food is par for the course in a brew pub - better than most, tho'.

If I go somewhere and the food is ok and the beer is great but the service is awful, I give it another shot. My second trip to Capital Ale House proved even worse than the first time. We sat at our table for twenty minutes and stopped two different waiters to ask for service and got, "Sorry, we're busy.... More

My wife and I ate here on Saturday night. She loved the Mac and Cheese. I had the jaegerschnitzel. Both were wonderful. Also the beer selection is great. Huge list of on tap and bottled beer. We will be going back.

Enjoyed a drink with macaroni and cheese dinner - excellent. Good stop as you walk through downtown. A little something for everyone on the menu.

I had dinner twice in this restaurant. Barbecued chicken fingers. The meal was delicious, the staff was friendly and respectful. Cant wait to get back there for more. Keep up the good service. The bar area was congested. May be create more space for peak seasons.

We were in town with a group for the recent civil war event and decided to try the Ale House because of the unbelievable beer selection and the menu we saw on line. Our first night experience was incredible. Seriously one of the best servers we've ever had. Knowledgeable about both the food and beer. Seven of us sat at... More

We had the crab deviled eggs, ring of fire burger, lamb burger; the food beer and drink were very good. We were going to get desert, however our waitress never came back to our table even when we flagged her. The manager finally gave us our bill after 20 minutes of waiting.

After a six month deployment to the Middle East, this was my husband's choice for first meal back in the States, and it definitely lived up to his expectations. Great food, service, friendliness, value -- need I say more? The managers stopped by when they heard about my husband, and comp'ed his meal as well. If you're not sure where... More
