This was highly recommended to us and were looking forward to something besides the tourist cuisine. The decor was great, everyone was very polished, well prepared with the sales pitches and good service. Our server saw us going over the wine list and made a suggestion for what he said was an excellent bottle of pinot noir, as it should... More

We had heard great things about this place and were excited to go. It certainly didn't live up to our expectations The maitre d was somewhat hurried when we arrived and seemed agitated. Our waitress was pleasant but inexperienced and we watched as others received their orders before us despite having arrived after us!! The shrimp And grits were excellent... More

We chose this restaurant as, whilst not having a vegetarian option on the menu, it did state that the chef was a vegetarian who prepared a special meal from scratch from fresh local ingrediants for those of us who do not eat meat. All the starters that did not contain meat did contain parmesan (a cheese strict vegetarians like myself... More

This was a great surprise and a pleasure to eat here. We were looking for something different and found it in Alligator Soul. It starts with the underground entry. The place is built in a basement of an old building. They have a varied menu but not overwhelming in choices. The waitress could not have been more attentive, knowledgable about... More

They asked about allergies, but could have cared less when they served the food. One of our party had an anaphylactic citrus allergy. We told them when we made the reservation We told the waiter when we arrived. The first thing they served us was bread with lemon butter! They could have cared less. Later we asked if something was... More

Very cute underground restaurant. The menu had so many interesting choices! 2 of us split the ribeye which was huge! It arrived undercooked but they remedied that immediately. The other 2 split the cassoulet, which was excellent. Wines were very good.

My husband and I love Alligator Soul. The food is absolutely to die for. Without fail, we always have a meal that is complex, yet somehow homey. They take dining to a new level, with old favorites made into something new and innovative. The service is also note worth. The only thing I would suggest when considering dining here, is... More

We took our 14 year old "meat and potatoes" grandson there on the recommendation of our Innkeeper. We were so glad we took her advice! The menu is very innovative, the food was outstanding, and our service was terrific. Our grandson loved the chef's sample to get our taste buds working, and requested a cup as his appetizer. Our waiter... More

A friend described this restaurant as a place for adventure eating. There are always unusual things in the menu: frog legs, rabbit, bison. You never know what will appear, although there will be more typical fare, as well. The chef is very creative and the food is excellent. If you are want high end, sophisticated and unusual food, this is... More
