Description: One of the city's most consistently stylish restaurants evokes a low-key, counterculture bistro, but its cuisine is grander and more cutting-edge than its industrial-looking decor and its level of hipness would imply. Wrapped in warm brick and cool steel, the Sapphire Grill has steeped itself in a history of fine culinary tradition. Christopher Nason is the owner and the most talked about chef of the moment in Savannah, preparing what he defines as a "coastal cuisine" based on seafood hauled in on the day of its preparation from nearby waters. From seasonal chanterelles and oregon black truffles, to the most tender cuts of meat and delicate seafood, Chef Nason and his team work feverishly to keep Sapphire at the mark expected of her.

Every bite from beginning to end was wonderful. The calamari was fresh and lightly breaded with a very nice citrus pesto drizzled on it. The Scorpion Bowl was a really fun experience to drink. The scallop special put all future and past scallop dishes my wife and I have had to shame. They were simply amazing. My New York strip... More

Over priced, underwhelming food. Service took forever. We were sorry that we took and important client and wife to dinner here with all the choices available in beautiful Savannah. No, never again.

My wife and I Celebrated a big birthday together with our children and their wives over the Memorial Day weekend. They picked Sapphire and it was fantastic. Everything, the atmosphere, service, drinks and food was perfect. The buttermilk marinated calamari were the best I ever had. We all had different main courses and they were all delicious. Our waiter was very attentive... More

I've been coming here for years on visits to Savannah. It has been consistently good and I haven't had a bad meal ever. However, there are so many great eateries in Savannah that I can see why Sapphire is not more highly rated. It is vastly better than Paula Deen's place next door so unless you are a tourist and... Had dinner recently as a part of an anniversary trip. The decor and building is very cool. Our waitress was a little harried, because she was given extra tables, but we were in no rush. Had the clams and octopus appetizer, which was excellent. Also had the grouper and it was delicous. Very nicely priced wines by the glass, also.... More

Our server was the best part of our meal. Can't remember her name but she was very professional and sweet and accommodating. The food was good, not great. The prices were through-the-roof (for example: for $19 you can add a plate of specially-seasoned salts to your meal. Yes, folks - $19 for SALT.). I'm OK with through-the-roof prices if the... More

We had a party of four and had a wonderful time. Great food, service and drinks. Two of us had the Grouper and it was wonderful. One had the Tuna which was also great. The wine list was also quite good.

For the past several years, whenever in the Savannah, GA area, I eat at Sapphire Grill. Mother's Day 2013 was another opportunity to enjoy this quaint establishment. The calamari is soaked in buttermilk and flash seared...tender, no grease just fantastic! The benne encrusted black grouper melted in my mouth. My daughter enjoyed the Ahi Tuna over Carolina gold ....fabulous. Dessert... More

This expensive little place seems like it has all the makings of a memorable experience.... cool decor, exclusive feel and great reviews. But it was not anything special. The food was too spicy (and I like spicy food), the service was average and the host seemed bothered to see us (even though we had reservations). The entire time I was... More

We ordered their grouper and it was one of the grouper dishes that we have ever had. They say they have the best steak in the area but we wanted to eat fresh seafood while in the area. It was the second best place that we ate at, and we ate at a lost of different restaurants during our stay... More
