I have been looking for a good soul food restaurant here in Jacksonville and I found it! I had the smothered pork chops on my first visit and what generous portions they give. I could have shared my plate. The cornbread was sooooo good I could have eaten the whole pan. Also, the staff was very pleasant and helpful. I... More

Without a doubt the best soul food restaurant in JAX that I have found, operated by Potter's House Ministries. I am almost afraid to ask what their religious views are because I don't wanna have to boycott this place if they are conservative the food here is so amazing. Good ole southern food like I grew up on back in... More

If Soul Food is what your looking for then this is not the place. I use to eat here all the time when they where located on Normandy across from Popeyes. Now the food is horrible nothing taste homemade there expensive and everything comes out of a can and gets heated up in the microwave. This maybe the worst Soul... More

I've eaten here at least ten times, most recently today 10/3/2012. I told my co-workers it was extra good. I just heard tonight it was named one of the "Top 100 Popular Cheap Eats" in the US. It is cafeteria style service. It's best to get their early to avoid long lines if it's lunch time. My favorite is the... More

I first ate here with my family about three years ago, while staying at the Hyatt for a convention. I was immediately hooked on the authentic, well-seasoned Southern cooking. Now, whenever we travel through Jacksonville, Florida to get to Gainesville or Orlando, we stop in. We ate there two days ago, while traveling to Port Saint Lucie. Although we enjoy... More

The choice of food was lacking, salads, was pretty slim picking. The staff could have been more cheerful....the tables was not cleaned well.

I only eat here a few times a year. It's a guilty pleasure. The food is amazing to say the least. It's not meant to be healthy at all. It is comfort food. I've had the oxtails, fried and smothered pork chops as well as the fried shrimp from here. All dishes were amazing. I love this place!!!
