Food was good, but a little disappointing, just need to splash it up a bit. Definitely ask for the spicy sauce on the side. Service was very friendly and attentive.
Good Mexican food. The quantity is good. The flavors are ok. Wide selection on the menu. Lunch pricing excellent. Nice outside eating space. The staff wasn't as friendly as I would have expected.
I live in Arizona so am very fussy about the Mexican food that I order. I hate blah Gringo style. I was very pleasantly surprised by El Costeno - I ordered the chicken Enchiladas with the Tomatillo sauce and it tasted really good. Plus is was cool to habla Espanol with the waitress. The restaurant is very small but the... More
I remember the first time I ate at El Costenos. It was at the old location and, on a whim, I tried the flautas. I fell in love! When they closed I was so upset that I would never have my beloved flautas again. I've tried them at other Mexican restaurants, (when they have them) and they're just not the... More
We really enjoyed the food and the outdoor setting. They don't serve alcohol here, but it is BYOB so we grabbed some ciders ahead of time! Delicious guacamole and the fajitas were great!
With a varied menu and choices, El Costeno offers both indoor or veranda seating. Also, a small courtyard is available and they are all worthy for the ambience. Some hesitancy and delay in food, but once it arrived, it was wonderful and definitely Mexican recipe oriented. Reasonable in choices for being downtown and the flavor it brings/.
Food is exceptional. Service a little slow but one server was handling the entire restaurant, and she was very pleasant and we were in no rush. BYOB too! One o my favorite Gettysburg restaurants.
We sat outside on their porch which has overhead fans and gave us a nice view of an historic Gettysburg street. Authentic family recipes and Mexican soda pop. FYI don't expect to get a Margarita there, they don't serve liqueur.
The food at El Costeno is tasty, especially the pork carnitas served with fresh tortillas and delicious spicy salsa verde. MMmnn! Service was fast, food was fresh and the covered porch offered a fun place to watch the (other) tourists go by. Parking is hit or miss, but this restaurant is spot on! It was a little on the pricey... More
This is some of the best food in Gettysburg. It is the ideal location for summer traveler; absolutely the best alfresco dining in Gettysburg. You can sit on the porch or under the beach umbrellas in the garden and watch the main street of town. The food is "autentico" and mild. The quality of the meats, unusually good for an... More
