The food here is superb. My wife was injured skiing earlier in the day. Half way through the meal she got sick and passed out. The staff was super helpful getting getting her back to the room (we were staying at the Alpenhof). I will not forget their kindness and will be back - hopefully under better circumstances.

Excellent meal, not cheap but good value for a special night out. The wine list was extensive and the service spot on.

We traditionally make sure to eat at four restaurants in Mammoth; Petras may have become our fifth. We had an excellent and interesting meal; the service was superb. The menu was quite interesting. Easy access from the Village.

We love this place. We sit at the bar and have dinner whenever we are in Mammoth. The bar staff is always friendly and helpful. Like all restaurants in Mammoth, Petras can be hard to get a reservation on big ski weekends or winter and spring breaks. We've always been able to get a seat at the bar and eat... More

The bistro is cozy and has a nice fireplace. My pasta was overcooked and absolutely tasteless (it had a bland creamy sauce and boiled broccoli and squash cut in huge pieces). My salad was nice but quite minimalist...My husband's steak was good. Our waitress offered me to change my pasta, and, as I declined, didn't charge us for it. The... More

Good location, jut minutes away from The Village. Ask for a table in the main area - there are three - one overlooking the road, one for private parties and the main one with the fireplace. You can also sit at the long bar and snack there if you fancy. They pride theselves on their wines - over 350 -... More

I hit this place on a busy Friday night with seven dinner companions. The staff didn't miss a beat. Food and wine were excellent, as I have become accustomed to at Petra's. Every year when I visit Mammoth, I make sure I have dinner there. It's not the cheapest place, but certainly not a ripoff.

This is the best restaurant in Mammoth. Intimate setting, yet completely comfortable and relaxed. We had the the brie appetizer and it was amazing. I had the poppyseed encrusted mahi-mahi and my companion had the scallops. Both were excellent in terms of taste and presentation. The wine list features many of the best wines in the country and the staff... More

The location, atmosphere, and food are very good. Nice bar area and very "cozy" inside. The menu could use some more variety but the food was very good. I had the scallops which were cooked perfectly (on the light side). We brought our young kids who do well in restaurants but there are not many choices for the kids (pasta... More

We had a very large party and everyone was pleased with their meals, but less than happy about the service, which came with a heavy dose of "attitude." There are very few "foodie" options in Mammoth and this appears to be one of the better ones. They have a spectacular wine list also. Since I've only eaten there once, I... More
