Probably my 5th or 6th visit to Barbuto in as many years. It's always consistently good. Noisy, not for intimate conversations. Always there for the chicken, but try the gnocchi, skirt steak and pork loin. Chef Jonathan Waxman often strolls through the restaurant. I'll go back again and again. More

Chef Jonathan Waxman was visible in the kitchen the day we were there. The brunch menu is small, but everything we had was outstanding. The roast chicken is the famous dish here, and it was utterly delicious. Baked eggs with spinach and parmesan? The comfort food you didn't know you were craving. The staff was pleasant and we were NOT rushed,... More

The best thing to eat in Barbuto is the chocolate cakes they bake daily and that are at the entrance shown as trophies. i like the idea to go to Barbuto and having food and knowing that at the end of my crab salad with poached eggs i can get a homestyle italian chocolate cake. Suggested for who is working... More

Had dinner here with our two teenage granddaughters this week. From start to finish it was a wonderful experience. We arrived early (5:30) but by the time we finished dinner the whole place was filled. We shared 3 appetizers..prosciutto, calamari and olive oil/lemon salad all of which were delicious. All 3 of us girls had the gnocchi as a main... More

nothing to say about the crowed who is very young and hips and the food is average, but I was very disappointed by the waiters that were very distracted. he forgot our drinks and then brought us the wrong main course. it's great in the summer though with all outdoor seats, but remember it's always very loud! They make it look easy, even though it's not: high-quality, seasonal ingredients, perfectly executed and served by a knowledgeable waitstaff who seem to be excited by the food and in providing a great experience. The restaurant itself is hip, comfortable and typically populated by people enjoying themselves and the food. On this visit, we had a group of four. Starters... More

We went here on the recommendation of our concierge who said that this was one of his favorite restaurants in the city and we were not disappointed. Being big foodies and visiting NYC for vacation this restaurant did not disappoint. The restaurant is located in a converted garage and they have huge space, with lots of light and very airy.... Refreshing and surprising dishes - I asked our very friendly waitress from the Chicago area to pick the dishes - she brought several appetizers for the three of us - and their roasted chicken for us to share - just fantastic - never thought roast chicken could be that delicious. All complemented by a very fairly priced bottle of Amarone.... More

Barbuto is a well run restaurant in terms of food quality and service. In our group every item was well prepared and very well done. No complaints there. It is a lively place where it is clear the patrons are having a good time. Just what you want. Unfortunately, the acoustics are such that with a crowd present, the ability... More

I had dinner here one Friday evening about 6:30. I think I might have snagged the last table. The bruschetta appetizer and the roasted chicken were amazing. I ended with a rhubarb tart that was no less delicious. There is both indoor and open air seating. My server was very attentive and enthusiastic about the food. Jonathan Waxman truly deserves...
