This was my first greek restaurant when abroad ever! I was delighted: traditional greek tastes, but with a twist! Easy-going stuff, beautiful atmosphere, perfect for a couple's night out! A special mention of the wine list: don't miss the opportunity to taste some really memorable greek wines! More

A cute and inexpensive, Greek restaurant that you pretty much have to know about , the best kind. Two blocks from the main Greenwich Village drag, which means you don't get the tourists, to the extent tourists still bother with Greenwich Village. Mostly neighborhood folks. The food is excellent and fresh. my only complaint is it can get noisy, and it'sa... More

Food was good, however the chef was very heavy-handed with the spice in some of the dishes. The bean soup daily special tasted more like Rosemary Soup and the Moussaka had way too much cinnamon (good thing the portion was tiny!). Best Spinach in Phyllo appetizer I've ever had! The Cod Cake appetizer was very good as well. More

We went here on a recommendation of a friend. Not at all what we expected. Arrived around 4pm, bartender/manager was a bit rude (we thought he was kidding at first). The restaurant was nearly empty but service was painfully slow. We were 10 feet from the bar (small place) and yet drinks took forever to get. Because the restaurant is... More

I wanted my 12 year old son to see Greenwich Village while we were in New York. We took the subwaty to the area and began walking toward a restaurant we'd found in Zagat's. On the way, we noticed Snack Taverna, a greek restaurant. Once inside we were seated in a sunny window booth. The food was amazing: homemade jelly,... More

This place is good! I went here on a Wednesday after work and it was completely packed by 830ish. It's a very cute, intimate atmosphere with a great crowd. Service is super friendly. I ordered a bunch of small plates: eggplant, hummus, beans & feta, spinach filo dough triangles, fried cheese. It was all really amazing. I was quite impressed... More

A great place for a couple's dinning. It is cute and cozy, very personal and intimate. Food is also fair good and service attentive and correct. I love to enjoy this place in my favorite place of NYC every time I visit the city. More

After reading the reviews, I was looking forward to taking some friends to Snack Taverna, which is near my home. We had 9:00 pm reservations, and when we arrived, we informed the server that we needed to be finished by 10:30, as we had tickets to a late show that night. She said fine. We ordered wine, appetizers, and main... More
