This was my second visit to Pisticci and I am impressed by this restaurant on so many levels. Once an omelet and toast spot, this place reinvented itself as a consistent dining room in Columbia University circuit where good restaurants are hard to come by because most spots are budget students oriented fast dining rooms. Pisticci, and its non-italian owner... More

This was our second trip to Pisticci and the return visit was not a disappointment. It was early evening but the restaurant was already busy and bustling. We wanted a quick and tasty dinner and opted for the minestrone followed by the spaghetti meatballs; both dishes are designed for sharing and there's certainly enough food to satisfy, if not defeat,... This is our family's Saturday night dinner place. I don't know where to begin except the Mushroom Risotto is a must. It is a special, so you may want to call them and ask if that will be on the menu. The children loved the spaghetti & meatballs. The meatballs are light and flavorful. We have tried almost every entree... More

A couple of weeks ago my husband and I went to "Pisticci" for Sunday brunch. The restuarant is located in a quiet residential area on 125th street. While we would have loved to dine outside in the cute little area they have in front of the restaurant it was a bit too cold to do that. We were just as... More

We thought we were back in Italy. Great atmosphere and fantastic food. Busy though - we had to wait for a table - but it was very much worth the wait. More

While visiting a niece at Columbia, we went to this great Italian restaurant just north of the campus. All the specials of the day were so enticing that we went "family style". The four of us got four different meals and shared amongst us all. Chicken, Salmon, Steak, and Pasta. Along with the bread and soup, we had an excellent... More

This hidden gem in the UWS serves delicious italian at a great price. The decor is homey though the space is not small and service is wonderful, both at the bar and at a table. Enjoy! More

As an international student, I'm always on a budget. Pisticci can be relatively expensive, however, if you make the right menu choices, you can have a lot of fun, eat nice food, and spend very little. Suggestions: the pasta bowl, sharing for two. You get a huge bowl that will be more than enough for two people (around $8 each).... More

Went there for Sunday's brunch. Nothing to be thrilled about. Service was rather long (45 min. to get served), mushrooms in the pasta were not fresh and pasta itself was so-so, two pancakes were very plain, tasted like they came from a pre-made mix and with very few fruits (less than half a strawberry, maybe 10 blueberries at most) and... It's surprisingly hard to find a good Italian restaurant in New York, given it's huge Italian population. I'm tired of "Italian-American" style overcooked pasta drowning in sauce. Thanks God Pisticci gets it right. Their pastas are very simple, but that's the key to Italian cuisine. My personal favorites are orechiete with broccoli rabe and spicy sausage (get the extra sausage),... More
