This diner has been at the same location on Second Ave. near 8th St. for over 45 years. This is Jewish comfort food, had very good cheese blintzes. No frills, it's a diner--the Latino staff is fast and friendly, and incredibly busy with take-out orders. Food is reasonably priced and fresh--well worth a visit if you're in the E. Village,... More

This place is a total hole in the wall (in the best sense of the word). Take a seat at the counter and order up your brunch, whether it be the delicious challah french toast, an omelette with home fries, or a giant bowl of split pea soup. It won't be the best brunch you've ever had (I'd rather hit... More

This is an old school New York Jewish Dairy Deli. Great atmosphere, everything from the counter top, the customers, the staff has real personality. And its really well priced. I highly recommend the borscht. and the perogies... Oh and they're generous with their challah bread and sour cream. More

I first came across B&H Dairy several years ago while visiting New York, and it's somewhere I visit almost every day when I'm in the city. If you want a fancy restaurant, this isn't the place to go, but if you want to experience a proper diner (with an original 1950s era lunch counter) with tasty, cheap food, this is... More

You should go. Great food. Big portions. Right price. Nothing fancy, and that's the way it should be. Breakfast and lunch are best. Say hi to Mike and Leo behind the counter. More

You only need to remember three things: (1.) Corn muffins (2.) Mushroom barley soup (3.) Sauerkraut and mushroom pirogies. With that in mind, be warned that when they say 'vegetarian' they mean there is a lot of fish on the menu. The solution to this is not to order it. All the fishy items are made fairly clear, i.e. 'tuna... More

The best diner service you can get. Polish food served by a Mexican. "Two corn muffins, and 8 sauerkraut and mushroom pirogies, please!" More

B & H Dairy, 2nd Avenue at St Marks Place, IS the quintessential EAST VILLAGE Restaurant- Always was, and always will be. In the old days, mid 1970's, DAVE ruled the counter. Dave, who left this earth a number of years ago while on duty at B & H, was the heart and spirit of B & H. Ask Dave... More
