Description: Taxi drivers are just beginning to learn that Canal does not end at Chrystie and that there is life (hopping!) below Delancey. With its friendly, casual vibe, Les Enfants Terribles is a little oasis in the lower Lower East Side. Located at the corner of Ludlow and Canal, the Afro-French bistro is inspired by the collective travels of globetrotting French owners Stefan Jonot and Fabrice Vautrin. Hints of Africa and Brazil abound in both cuisine and décor. Traditional French bistro fare is given an exotic twist—for example, popular dishes include steak tartare with harissa and Moroccan mint; korhogofefemougou, a succulent steak rubbed with spices from the Ivory Coast; savory Moroccan couscous; and moqueca, a mouthwatering Brazilian fisherman’s stew. Les Enfants Terribles’ signature cocktails are equally alluring, with daily specials that take advantage of the fruit of the season. Our sunny sidewalk terrace is the perfect setting for an evening aperitif or weekend brunch!

Small restaurant on the border of LES and Chinatown. Menu is a mix of mostly North African and Brazilian selections. The Picanha was nicely cooked but under-seasoned. The couscous was fairly good. Wines were ok but nothing really stood out. More

After a long but fun day trudging about in lower east side, we were starving! ended up in Chinatown but didn't want Chinese food.. a tall order... This lady in the Eldridge Synagogue suggested Les Enfants Terribles... and we were very glad. The atmosphere was perfect, service very good and food quite good. Slightly limited menu... we got there at... More

Having just come back from brazil, the mocqueca I had at les enfants was pretty decent. The place was quite pretty and intimate and the staff was really nice. It might be a little cramp, but overall had a good experience. More

My children and I walked in circles around Chinatown looking for cozy place to eat that didn't have irridescent lights and plastic table clothes. We bumped into this restaurant/cafe and althought they were in the middle of hosting their NYC happy hour, they welcomed me and my two kids in and served us like we were the only guests in... More

there was a large group of us and it was a really fun place, great vibe, super friendly staff....BUT....the food...was pretty disappointing (everything was a little dry and under seasoned, which especially sucks when it's a $23 entree) ..i'd probably go back, but just for the appetizers and mojitos.
