Nice French food in a quaint East Village shotgun-style location. The food is good, the service is friendly and bohemian, but the place is tiny and crowded. Reservations are pretty hit-or-miss, you make a reservation but then end up waiting at the crowded bar just like folks who didn't book a table. More

Take a step back in time. Relax. Slow down. Enjoy good food, good wine and good friends. Lucien's is small and cozy. And you can always count on a great meal, whatever you select. I'm partial to the cassoulet, which you don't see on many menu's these days. But everything I've tried there has been done to perfection. Take the... More

They gave my BF and I and 8:30 reservation on a Saturday night. I think it was a farse, a way to create a crowd so that it looked like they were serving something spectacular that is in high demand. We waited over 40 minutes standing in a narrow area near the bar. When we were finally seated and ordered... More

Went with a group of four on a Saturday night, but there was no wait. A small East Village restaurant that has a marvelously relaxed atmosphere and a chef who likes to experiment a bit with French bistro classics. I had the sweet-brains, easy to overcook, but they were done just right. Staff was attentive but not in your face.... More

I loved the ambience, the food and the service. The staff was lovely about letting us create our own happy hour menu! More

I love a good french bistro in the city, and this place is one of them. A cozy french vibe, great service and very good food. I had shellfish, my friend clams - mine where the best option we thought. Good selection of wine too. An enjoyable dinner in a great neighbourhood - will be back for sure. More

Went to dinner at Lucien on the suggestion of a store clerk in their neighborhood. Didn't know what to expect but was very pleased. Came in and the owner offered us a glass of the very fine Vouvray he was drinking and charmed us. My husband and I shared the sweetbread app that was seasoned to perfection--crispy ends yet melt... My husband and I went into the city to celebrate his birthday and a friend recommended we try Lucien. Its a small store front on the lower East side with airy light tables in the front, a bar in the middle and more table seating in the back. We both enjoyed our salads first. My husband had a mesulin salad... More

If you are fed up with those large synthetic formal chains, then give this small authentic taste of New York a try. Located in the unfashionable East Village, Lucien’s provided us with one of the most memorable dining nights of our New York trip. Walking in without a reservation we luckily were shown to the last available table in the... More

We went to Lucien for brunch and were gravely by the slow service and meager portions. A brunch special of French Toast amounted to four small slices from a baguette roll, It wouldn't even have sufficed as an appetizer. Other orders were equally unremarkable. A definite place to skip. More
