Description: Open since 1987, Chin Chin is New York's premier destination for haute Chinese cuisine. Owner of this sophisticated 49th Street restaurant, Jimmy Chin has been hailed by Zagat as one of New York's most gracious hosts year after year. The restaurant's menu is crafted with ingredients from around the world and prepared with Asian techniques and spices; a far cry from the typical neighbourhood Chinese restaurant. The Grand Marnier Prawns (a Frank Bruni favourite) have proven to be the most popular crowd-luring dish, whilst the Minced Squab in lettuce wraps have also stood the test of time. A special Dim Sum lunch menu is also available on weekends and there are two exquisite banquet rooms to accommodate private parties and functions.

Chin chin is a central place, where food is good but quite expensive. We had spring rolls to start with, noodles with chicken and sweet and sour chicken that were all very tasty but to finish I took cheesecake which was just disappointing. A whole meal was 80 $ each person. The restaurant is clean but in search of a... More

Chin chin was a choice for us after the first choice restaurant we wanted was fully booked. I'm glad we went there after all now as the reception and service was fabulous. Really friendly, really helpful, really attentive. The menu is large and I had queries about the amount of sauce on dishes (I like a lot of sauce!) and... More

My girlfriend and I went to Chin Chin's last night after our hotel concierge recommended it. Our hotel was close to Times Square so he did mention it is a little bit of a walk but it was a nice night and we decided to go and check it out. We are glad we did... We didn't make a reservation,... More

Service was attentive but me and the Mrs ordered 2 separate meals, one was sesame chicken and the other was a beef dish. Both meals tasted the same like they where cooked in soy sauce. One dimensional food. Made me a bit nauseous. Went to pay the bill and was intimidated into leaving a tip. Little noodle bar on 6th... More

My wife and I have been going to Chin Chin for almost 20 years, and since we've moved away from NYC, we make it a "must visit" on every trip back. Jimmy Chin, the owner, is a great guy and runs a very fine restaurant. The service is efficient and attentive, without being overbearing; the drinks are great, and the... More

Went on Saturday night before seeing a play on Broadway. Called in the afternoon to make reservations and they suggested 6pm to be able to get to play on time. Walked from hotel at Roc. Center and was there within 15 mins. After dinner we easily walked to the theatre, something that would not have been possible if we had... More

Our hotel recommended we eat at Chin Chin. It is hidden off of East 51 Street and 3rd Avenue. It was wonderful. Our waiter was great, his name was Lo. He made suggestions and each one was better than the next. I would highly recommend this restaurant. More
