Great atmosphere with incredible food. The goat cheese and tomato salad was awesome. Drinks were fantastic. Service was ok but not too bad. More

I ate a pan seared filet mignon and my girlfriend a lemon and sage roasted chicken. Both tasted really good. The restaurant has a calm/romantic style. The staff was very polite and helpful. It is not the cheapest place, but definitely worths it. More

My sisters and I took our mother to 44 & X for an early Mothers Day brunch on Saturday. We were seated promptly for our reservation, and the service was attentive, yet not obtrusive. I had the crab cakes with poached eggs and it was excellent. Good flavor to the crab cakes and the poached eggs were cooked nicely. Other... More

A friend reccomended this restaurant, so we decided to take my father there for his birthday. Although we didn't have a reservation, the hostess graciously found us a table - she was really great. The atmosphere is charming as well. It's a small space, but it feels light and airy. As for the food - it's reasonably priced (for NYC),... More

Had an early dinner with friends on Sunday at 44&x. The restaurant has huge windows facing west which make the place bright and the style is comfortable modern. The service and quality of food were good though expensive. I think most main dishes were in the $30s. I had the short ribs which were delish. I'd go back. More

We had an 11:30am reservation (Saturday brunch). Our two friends had yet to arrive...we were ten minutes early. The hostess stated that they do not seat partial parties and directed us to wait at the bar. I pointed to our nine year old twins and told her that would be highly inappropriate. She then asked me if I would like... More

very good food. the noise level was crazy. besides a headache, it was very hard to hear each other. waiter was way too busy and not very interested in us, and had an "attitude". they need to add curtains and carpet and acoustic ceilings to reduce the noise level. try it at a time when it is not filled with... There really isn't anything offensive about 44 & X, but equally there's not anything distinctive which makes it stand out from the crowd, or to excite you at the thought of a return visit. I went with friends for a late brunch on Easter Sunday and there was the obligatory line of hungry diners outside. In its favor the restaurant... More
