When we stay in NY we always stay in a hotel around Times Square. After checking in in the hotel the first thing we do is have dinner in this restaurant.Informal with a pleasant staff and very flexible service. If you have to wait a while you sit at the pleasant bar. The food is really excellent and very Italian. If you are... More

Family weekend surprise trip to NYC. Lady and I were first in this restaurant in 2008. Thought we would try again. It's ok...not outstanding....but okay. Given location - half block or so from madness of Times Square, it's actually better than ok. Service reasonable. Food tasty and priced acceptably for the area. We had reservations but probably didn't need them.... More

Still in withdrawal after returning from 10 days in Italia, Osteria al Doge was just what the doctor ordered. A quaint and charming little oasis in the middle of the very commercial and touristy Times Square, we all quickly decelerated from NY frenetic speed to la bella vita. The Osteria al Dodge is beautifully, yet simply decorated and furnished with... More

...and try dinner. I'm new to the area (live across the bay in Newark, NJ) and have been wanting to try an Italian restaurant in NYC. Wandered by here by luck/accident. Very clean, very polished, yet not overly "modern". Went around late lunchtime on a Friday. Seated promptly. Just me and a friend. Since we had already had a few... More

Our favorite restaurant in NYC. We go there every time we visit NYC to see a show. Since the restaurant specializes in pre- and after-show dining, the servers ask about your show time and make sure that you will be on time. The food is always terrific, with homemade pastas and and multitude of wonderful choices. The place is a... More

If you are going to a Broadway show and want a fine, comfortable meal without paying a New York fortune consider Osteria Al Doge, which is located only a block off of Time Square. The Italian food was quite good (and I'm from RI which prides itself on its Italian food) and the service efficient and friendly. They made sure... More

We were staying nearby and had just checked into our hotel and went looking for somewhere to eat around Time Square - not easy. Fell upon this place by mistake. Very good and way beyond what we expected. Great Italian food without being overly expensive. Full of older Italans eating dinner - which must be a good sign.

Nice restaurant for a pre show dinner. The staff was friendly and asked about show times. We tried a pasta dish, the salmon and a pizza. The entrees were very good. The pizza was just average. Calamari appetizer was good and tiramisu for dessert was very good. We sat on second floor and the ambiance was very nice. It was... More

A nice Italian place if you are in Times Square. The food was very good and the service was excellent. The wine and appetizers were a little over priced. I guess you are paying for the convenience of time square. The main course was priced fairly.
