Had a very pleasant lunch at the Il Cortile restaurant! It's located at the heart of Little Italy, and he pasta we had was very good! Our table was at the backyard and it was trully special! The decor of the whole restaurant is beaufiful! I just dont reccomend the Bruschettas. They come over something that seems like a white... More

Thanks to the American guy (who has hunted in Labrador and Manitoba - we've not been to either and we're Canadian!) in Times Square who overheard our conversation about wanting good Italian after Mary Poppins and sent us down to Little Italy. I have a strong aversion to chain restaurants and anything in tourist-trap areas; when travelling we want the... More

I recently visited this restaurant with a party of 7 ladies enjoying their birthdays in NYC. The location is fab, really special. I had read some previous reviews, where service was an issue. I can only speak of our experience on a busy Saturday night, and it was excellent! The food wad delicious, the aptmosphere was buzzing, and the service... More

We had 6:30 dinner reservations for five on a Saturday night. They gave us a great table in their courtyard area. Loved the bread basket. The house Chianti was wonderful. The food came out in a relaxed fashion, which we enjoyed because we had been on the go touristing all day. (I might not have liked it had I been... More

Nice atmosphere, decent service, but that's where the praise ends. The food was overpriced, and unremarkable (as recently noted by another reviewer) to poor. NYC has so much more to offer - go someplace else! More

Been visiting this restaurant in Little Italy since 2002 - and the quality of the food continues to impress. Photos on the wall show that this is a favourite of the cast of The Sopranos, and you can really see why. Food is excellent quality, with the fried mozarella starter and vodka sauce pastas to die for. The staff could... More

Loved it. Waiters were very complimentary like all italian men ( does wonders for the ego :), and the food was even better. Decor is a little dated but dont let that stop you. Easily the BEST meal we had in Little Italy, and we ate at 4 other places. Perfect al dente pasta and white sauce to die for.... More

A friend of mine had red a book written by one of Soprano guys, all about NY and places he liked to eat, all over the city. It Cortile was his recommendation for Little Italy. So, we went to try it. The courtyard (which is how it translates) inside is the only feature we liked. The food was unremarkable, and... More

Ate Sunday lunch. Average food, nothing special. I even went w/ waiter's recommendation. Don't remember exact name but it was pasta w/ eggplant and tomatoes. Bread was yummy. More

This one came highly recommended to us as the "best in little Italy in NYC" so we had to try it out. We arrived at 12.00 but the restaurant wasn't really open yet. The cooks were eating in the front of the restaurant and we asked to be seated so they agreed rather uninterested. We were lead into the backyard... More
