We visit NYC 6-10 times every year where our favorite vegan restaurant is candle 79. They feature creative and tasty choices in a more upscale setting than most vegan or vegetarian eateries. The servers are New York in their attitudes -,knowledgeable and a bit edgy. Prices are not modest, however they are appropriate for the fare.

Had a great meal with wife and two daughters. One duaghter and me are not vegetarian but both of us enjoyed the food. Service was good and atmosphere was pleasant in upstairs restaurant. Cost not cheap but felt value and quality reflected this

We had a wonderful dinner here this past weekend. The food and variety were excellent. The waitstaff suggested the perfect wine for us and the service was excellent. We were a group of four: one vegan, one vegetarian and two meat eating carnivores. We all enjoyed our meal! You don't have to be vegan to love Candle 79.

Restaurant is close to Central Park. Great food - really tasty, lots of variety. Daily specials menu. Wide choice of beers and wines. Service very friendly. Book in advance or be prepared to wait a long time! Portions are on the large side so be aware when ordering. Pricey as well, but worth it.
