Description: On July 15th, 2009, Caravaggio, opened its doors to New York City for the first time. Located at 23 E. 74th Street, the Bruno brothers' latest cutting-edge concept carries on the long-lived family tradition of serving great food to our devoted patrons and to the greater New York area. Our attention to detail, in both food and service, will continue to be our main goal. We believe in nourishing body and soul, which is the wisdom of our Salerno ancestors from Southern Italy. Giuseppe Bruno, Cosimo Bruno, and their staff, along with the remaining fratelli Bruno, will strive to continue this heartfelt tradition.

One year ago we have visited Caravaggio for a lunch and were impressed by true Italian food and a professional service. However we never leave a review after the first visit, because most of the NY restaurants tend to worsen pretty soon after a good start. And, alas, Caravaggio is already dead, though it’s still on a vine. Waiters are... More

This was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had in NYC, The service was outstanding. The food was well presented, nicely portioned and delicious. My husband and I had the Branzino in Crosta di Sale which was more then excellent. The deserts were beautiful and indulgent. The carrot cake was presented with a wonderful combination of favor,... We booked this after reading glowing reviews on TA and this ended up being our least favourite restaurant. The food was good but portions were small and we expected better considering the hefty prices they charged. Service was great - very friendly and efficient. There were no wines by the glass so we had no option but to go for... More

We went for my wifes birthday whilst in NYC. Too all the parents for a special meal. The staff were excellent as was the service. The Maitre d who served us was however slightly rude to me, but I think he may have just been trying to be funny to the rest of the party, but unfortunatly I was paying!!... More

When you spend more than $100 per person (and that's with just one glass of wine each, and only one dessert for the 3 of us) the food should be extraordinary. It wasn't. One special appetizer--scampi--was so salty it was barely edible. The risotto and farfale was also way too salty. My wife's soft shell crabs were delicious but it... More

We picked this resturant after reading reviews on Tripadvisor. We meet business associates for dinner. The atmosphere is great very calm and soft. The staff was so professional and warm. The food is amazing! So many great choices and each one perfectly prepared. A really great choice and a wonderful way to start our stay in New York! More

Overall, way way way overpriced. The server paired wines superbly. An amuse bouche and a farewell dessert "tree" took care of appetizer and of dessert! The salads were delightful! The entrees were interesting. Get there early. Don't order "spaghetti," though some diners did!!! Pasta with sea urchin turned out to not be terribly original (it is, instead, currently trendy), but... More
