Had lunch with a client on a weekday in Markt in April 2012. It was packed, but we just had to endure a short wait. Very good and friendly accomodation by the staff. Straightforward food that was very reasonably priced to NY standard. The steak tartare was good & came with all the necessary trimmings (except the separate egg yolk... More

The best time to test service in a pub is lunch time. We stumbled on this restarant on the way to play billards and my husband was craving a burger. Beer was great as were the mussels and fries. Onion soup was excellent. Burger was good and fries excellent. Best part was Matt, our waiter. Despite a packed house, he... More

This French style restaurant with a NY flare was a great find. The bread basket with a cup of soup was perfect on a chilly day. The menu had a wide variety of items but yet all related. It was reasonably prices and the dishes around us looked amazing especially the moules frites. I will go back to try some... More

Friendly informal atmosphere (jeans+sports jacket kind of place). True old world design. Food was really great. My partner had pork chops and fries accopanied with a really nice a refreshing endive salad. I ordered meatballs, that tastes homemade. Margarita was delicate and yummy, but a little too small of a portion. Food was reasonably priced. Wasn't in the mood for... More

Nice and friendly place on 6th Avenue with great selection of tasty Belgian food and beers! We accidentally bumped into the place looking for a place to eat our lunch and were really happy with our visit. I had the Moules Au Vin Blanc - mussles steamed in white wine - with fries. Really excellent food and highly recommended. Also... More

We sort of fell into Markt by accident - we were actually aiming for an Italian restaurant nearby, missed its opening hours, and were left wandering hoping to find somewhere nice. A lot of the catering nearby wasn't that inspiring-looking so it was a relief to find somewhere that looked like a comfortable and friendly cafe-style place. At this point... More

Love the authentic Belgian food. I lived in Belgium for 2 years and still miss the unheralded but wholesome cusine of Flanders. Markt certainly delivers. I tried the Carbonnade And it was as good as it gets. Also enjoyed the great beer selection. I was impressed by the dept of the menu (i.e. Waterzooi, not a dish that you would... More
