Description: As one of the first restaurants to lead the Meatpacking District’s revival, Macelleria has proven itself to be a staple in an ever-changing neighborhood. Owned and operated by Violetta and Sergio Bitici, Macelleria's rustic, Northern Italian cuisine never disappoints. Using only the finest meats and home-made pastas, each visit to Macelleria is like sitting in on a Tuscan grandmother's Sunday dinner. Drop by and you're likely to see Robert DeNiro or Jay-Z dining in the restaurant's wine cellar, constructed in-part using a 16th-century fortress.

We ate supper at the terrasse outside last weekend. As soon as the waiter realized we were just going to have pasta and a glass of wine (we had had a big lunch), he lost all interest in us. When he brought the pasta he pointed out it already had some cheese on top, as if to say: don't dare... More

When visiting our daughter in NYC we make sure to eat at Macelleria in Meat Packing. My husband said that he has never had a better steak in his life and I loved my pasta dish! The bartender also made great mojitos! It is in a very hip area and has great atmosphere. I highly recommend! More

We just happened to walk by the restart and found the atmosphere inviting. The food was good, but our waiter was lousy. When I asked him about the unusually sweet peppercorn used to plate our dish, he just shrugged and said "I don't know." I asked another waiter and he was nicer and went to the kitchen to ask the... As its Italian name suggests, fantastic meat dishes in the heart of the Meatpacking District. Fantastic quality and a real treat. We enjoyed the food and the service and would definitely return. Great atmosphere and location. More

Went with our 5 year old to have lunch after walking the high line park from 30th St on a week day. Friendly service. Sat outside, it was a very nice sunny day. Food was without fault! The walnut treacle tart was amazing. A little on the pricey side but the food was top notch in a casual setting. More

Really enjoyed our evening in Macelleria... the area is great, and we were happy to find somewhere quite casual but high-quality. The staff were very helpful and quick, if a little sombre. But the nice thing is we weren't rushed at all even though it was a Friday night and they could have refilled our table. Regarding the food... the... More

Fabulous Italian restaurant, good prices, and the best angel hair pasta I’ve ever eaten! Fantastic friendly service and down to earth casual atmosphere. Close to Christian Louboutin: 59 Horatio Street, NY if you feel like some shopping :O) More

Service was excellent. The restaurant is very cozy in a good way. The butternut squash soup, and the Tuscan sausage with beans were delicious. Would definitely return. More

I loved this place. Very good service, casual and friendly atmosphere. We sit at the bar and had margaritas and some fried calamari. It was really delicious! A new yorker friend told us that it would be really nice and it was. More

We went to Marcelleria for New Year's Eve and I have to say it was not worth the money. Where to start? Was it the drinks waiter putting tap water into my half-full sparking water or perhaps the cracked glass or was it the revolting steak sauce? Perhaps it was the rude wait staff or the inedible pasta? Any which... More
