Description: Chef and owner Frank Crispo opened Crispo Restaurant in the heart of Chelsea and the West Village in the summer of 2002. Our 150 seats create a lively, warm and friendly atmosphere where you can enjoy our signature Northern Italian cuisine. We were nominated in 2002 for "Best New Restaurant" by Time Out magazine, and received an award for "Best Spaghetti Carbonara" by New York Magazine in 2004. Food is not our only passion. Our extensive wine list covers the major regions of Italy and several other countries beyond. For enthusiasts, we have a full bar stocked with grappa, amaros, aperitifs and digestifs. Come join us for dinner in our main dining room, or in our outdoor garden space. It remains open year long. With this newest addition to Crispo Restaurant you will truly feel like you are not in New York.

When we could not get into our restaurant of choice on a Friday evening (yes, one of those p-r hyped, celebrity chef places) we settled on Crispo. It was a short pleasant walk from our Union Square hotel. The restaurant is slightly subterranean with small patio out on 14th Street and a busy but cozy interior (including what seemed to... More

We fell for the PR blab. It was a cold night and living 3 doors away enticed us to Crispo. Seated next to the bar at the front it was noisy and chilly as the front door was constantly left open by patrons arriving. Now the food.... Average! The pasta carbonara I their signature dish? Seriously? Something got lst in... More

Crispo is one of the best Italian restaurants in NYC without even trying. I've been to all the big-name, high-p.r.- driven places and it's among the best. Compare it to restaurants twice its price for authenticity and quality of food. More

My wife and I went for dinner. The inside is nicely decorated and comfortable. Service was very attentive and friendly. The caprese salad appetizer was good. The tomatoes and mozzarella were very fresh. We ordered a carafe of red wine which was good, but a little overpriced. For a main course, we shared spaghetti and meatballs and chicken cutlet. We... We found this restaurant throught the tripadvisor app, while we were a little lost. The outside may seem a little dark, but the true gem is hidden inside. We first thought that the restaurant was small but the waiter took us deeper inside until we found a large space. The restaurant has a really great atmosphere going on, guests were... More

We just had a fabulous meal at Crispo. Food was delicious, particularly zucchini flowers as an appetizer. Atmosphere is crowded and a bit noisy, but is what you expect on a Friday night. Highly recommend. More

I first went to Crispo 3 years ago and had a wonderful experience. Since then, I've been back another 5 times and each visit has been equally wonderful. I've had the Carbonara repeatedly and it's one of the best dishes I've ever had. Desserts are top notch and the drinks are pretty good. Price is reasonable for the type of... More
