I thought I had entered Cowgirl because it's in a corner on Hudson but decided to try this place. Had to sit on the bar because it was full. Had a radicchio salad, spaghetti a la pomodoro and draft wheat beer. Was amazed at the freshness of the salad which I had not eaten before and the spaghetti was filling... More

Not quite worth going out of your way, but if you're in the neighborhood this is a lovely, quiet spot with lots of light coming through the windows, which also afford a nice view of the street scene. There's a $15 lunch prix fixe with an appetizer (over a dozen options) and entree of either sandwich or pasta. Our starters... More

This was a Portuguse restaurant some time ago and I deservedly trashed it then for rotten service and bad food. Now there is a new owner and the whole place has gone through a facelift. It was great - the service and food was excellent. The prices just right and there was a good crowd there for dinner. It was... More

as what was good was very good but what was mediocre was very disappointing. We went with out of town friends and I really looked forward to our dinner as I live in the neighborhood and expected it to have the food quality of Dell'Anima and D'Artusi. The menu had many interesting sounding appetizers and we all loved the fried... More

Walking in the West Village on a nice Spring day in NYC and a diner outside eating a bowl of spaghetti caught my eye. We walked in just as the kitchen was closing Sunday afternoon but they still accommodated us and I'm glad they did. The menu is unusual - a strange mix of brunch and Italian - breakfasty-style foods... More

We sat at the "chef's bar", near the kitchen and it was exciting to watch all the activity and see the many dishes as they passed by. The food was quite tasty..especially the duck breast. House wine, delicious and not expensive, by NYC standards. My reluctance to return is because the music was overbearingly loud at times, and when we... More

We were the first lunch table being seated on a quiet Monday, the host not so friendly. The waiter took some time getting to our table, he arrived wearing a shirt that hadn't been laundered in some time, seriously dirty. For a starter we ordered the Chicken Liver Crostini with roasted grapes, it arrived with no grapes, It was pretty... More

Great food. A really relaxed but sophisticated atmosphere. Great music. Beer and wine by the glass could be expanded a bit. Grilled bread and cheese is a must. Order a pasta or two and the kale is wonderful. Branzino was well prepared as well. Worth a visit. More

Don't expect red checkered table cloths and spaghetti and meatballs at this West Village Italian spot. Instead you get rustic yet contemporary dishes with an Italian flair. They've got great homemade pastas, wonderful fish (like a whole Branzino wrapped in Proscutto and seared Diver scallops), not to mention a great selection of cheeses and cured meats. Given the neighborhood, there's... More

Wow! I am always sad to read poor reviews and can totally fiter them to realize you will get what you give. I think if a customer is entitled or rude, they deserve the same. Though the 40th anniversary story is very sad below. That said, I loved this place. Wemt to celebrate a new job and had genuineoy friendly... More
