Came here with a foodie friend of mine whose been here before and I can see why she likes it so much! Our host/waiter on 5/2/13 (didn't catch his name) was super friendly and helpful! Definitely kudos to him!! We ordered Lumpiang Barquillos, Spam Fries and Lechon Kawali for starters. Once arrived, the host/waiter let us know what sauces were... More

As rare as Filipino restaurants are in our home state of Alabama, we could not pass up the opportunity to sample the fare at Maharlika. We had read mixed reviews on the net but after having dinner with our Northeast friends on a cold night in March, we do not regret our selection. The atmosphere is dark and more bar... More

This is not your grandma's homemade Filipino cooking but it is just as delicious and well executed with a modern twist that makes Filipino cuisine more universally appealing. I particularly liked the fried chicken with taro flavored waffles. The chicken is moist and not greasy. It reminded me of a popular fried chicken brand in Manila. The lamb adobo and... More

First, there's not too many Filipino restaurants in the greater NY area except those in Queens or NJ. Maharlika is an attempt at a classy or gourmet Filipino restaurant in Manhattan. It was better than I expected, but the overall taste delivery falls a bit short of true Philippine cooking. It does a better job at presentation than taste. The... More

I went for brunch and we almost lost our reservation because my friend was running late (they only hold reservations for 15 minutes). Thankfully she made it just in the nick of time. I had the sigsig (pork bits and pieces) served on a cast iron skillet with a freshly scrambled egg. It was delicious. Service was also great. My... More

Masarap! I went to Maharlika for Sunday brunch with some non-Pinoy friends. I had been dying to try Maharlika out ever since they were just a pop-up spot. The long awaited visit was well worth it and I can't wait to go back! As other Yelpers have noted, the place is a bit on the small side, but not as... More

This restaurant had excellent service and prepared very tasty food, but we were surprised by the portion size for the price that was charged, especially when you consider that they accept only cash (which always make me ponder why, and I come away with only 2 reasons). If the portions had been bigger, the high prices would have been easier... More

This place will serve you some pork realness, 12 different ways. Filipinos (and the people who love them) will get their grub on at this place. Folks new to Pinoy cuisine will revel at the tasty flavors and expand their asian palette.

Good food, fun place with great service. The only minus was there was only one small air-conditioner for the entire restaurant and it was uncomfortably hot inside. Also, my cocktail, the "FPJ", had a little too much lime. But over all my friends and I still had a great time and enjoyed our meal.

We went based upon NY Times recommendation. Loved it. Our server was very helpful in navigating the menu and making recommendations. It was both of our first time with many of these dishes. Started with the chicharon and a garlic, lime, oil, and chili dipping sauce. This comes as a compliment from the chef. We went for the signature dish,... More
