Description: Once upon a time in Moscow & St. Petersburg, a mythical woman named Mari Vanna welcomed diners into her home with open arms, feeding them traditional Russian fare on her finest china and linens. All were welcome and those who frequent were graced with a key of their own to return whenever they wish to this cozy retreat. Now in present day New York City on a popular block between the Flatiron and Gramercy, Mari Vanna has taken up residency and awaits hungry New Yorkers, neighbors and tourists alike who are looking to eat, drink and be merry and finally understand what true Russian hospitality means. The menu offers time honored Russian classics such as the flavorsome customary soup Borsch with Pampushka, Beets, Broth, Beef, Cabbage, Carrots and Potatoes served with Sour Cream in a beautiful tureen that holds enough for seconds or third. Mari Vanna is open for lunch, brunch and dinner 7 days a week.

Came for the awesome Sunday brunch, $35 per person, all you can eat and all Mimosas you can drink...stayed for probably 3 hours, and had a blast. Food was great, mimosas never stopped, service was superb! Will be coming back again! More

I visited the Mari Vanna in May 2011 when I first came to New York. We first did not find it and passed the streets twice before we asked some locals if they knew where we could find the Mari Vanna restaurant. There was a construction side exactly infront of the restaurant, therefore we did not make it out at... More

Went there for dinner with a Russian colleague, the staff, food and prices were fine but perhaps on a busy night it is too cramped. More

Having a Soviet background I still thought this place was run really well, with the Russian staff, the traditional food and drinks etc. They also do a little thing for birthday people - when the staff come out with a cake, sparkly candles etc. I loved it! More

I have been to this place a couple of times. It was always full. The food is great and served very creatively. It might be on a pricier side There is always a lot of birthday parties going on - they sing you a russian song for a birthday (not a Happy-BD-2-U song) it all looks and sounds pretty festive.... This place is definitely worth a visit. It is a hilariously authentic russian scene, seemingly complete with russian mobster looking types and what appeared to be a cache of hot young hookers We made reservations for 4 at 9:15, and when we arrived they did not seat us for an hour. It is small, sure, but they seat Russians first,... More

Home made Russian food (made with love) in an authenthic Russian setting. Great service, Owesome Martini with Sea Buckweat (very Siberian!). We spent 3 hours in that relaxing atmosphere, and it coast us $65 per person for an early dinner (an appetizer and an entree from a la carte menu + 2 drink) with a 20% tip. One drink was... More

The food is very good and very Russian as it should be, must have the infused Vodka, my favorite is horseradish, fantastic Love the atmosphere of the place, like an old house... Service is not the best, but they are very very nice and accommodating, do not wait for all your dishes to come at the table together, they are... More

Comfort Russian food in authentic surroundings where every nook and cranny reminded our Russian friend of home. You' d expect Yeltsin to dance here or Gorby to be your host on a busy night. The bar scene is energetic, the tables are like sitting in a friend's home, the food oh my the food is not only the reason to... More
