Very nice. one of the best japanese restaurants that I went. Environment is very comfortable. Went there during the restaurant week with my friends and we all like it.
This was our second visit to Megu during retaurant week and both times were equally outstanding. My 7 year old , who thinks Burger King serves the best beef, was blown away by the Kobe beef entree. His only complaint was that his portion was too small. He made up for it with the chocolate cake. Unfortunately, he is cultivating... More
Not sure why this place gets a lot of fuss. It's fine, but we wouldn't go back. It's waaaaay out of the way and although the service was excellent, the food was just okay. The sushi, after such a detailed explanation of quality, was really flavourless and no big deal. Having to cook your own meat on a hot stone... More
I heard about Megu a few years ago from a group of friends and they highly recommended to me. Just last year, the restaurant earned the coveted International Six-Stars Diamond Awards, and IMO they deserve it. The food is exquisite, the details, the interiors, the ambiance. I lived in Japan for three years and I can say, that Megu is... More
I don't understand all the bad reviews. We had a superb meal here last weekend. We ordered a prix fixe 7-course dinner. The fish was the freshest and artfully presented. The service was attentive but unobtrusive. I'd say 7 courses were too much for me even though the portions were small. I'd come back just for sushi. The only weak... More
It is what it is...I primarily go to a restaurant for the food. And I loved it! I had these foie gras and meat balls, absolutely wonderful. Sushi was fresh and tasty. As desert I had the green tea crepe cake that was fabulous. Other than the food, the decor was terribly old fashion (back in time!) and the service... More
Megu is a bad wannabe copy of Nobu and it's not funny! The prices are really high, the sushi ok but boring and i dont think the staff want o work there! When we were there we saw the manager argue with one of the waitresses because she had given a rebate to some customers who have had to send... More
Great NY dinner experience starting with the entrance. The restaurant is more than cool. Atmosphere simmilar to Buddha Bar but more refined. Food exquisit and service very attentive. Excellent wines.
Had dinner here on our recent visit to NY. The food was amazing - had a set menu and both the sushi, kobe beef and crab were all beautiful. Only aspect we could put our finger on was the service. The service was good when we got it, but there were too few people at work, hence we were sometimes... More
I don't know if restaurants are really getting the whole restaurant week concept. The reason is to have customers come in the door, you woo them with good food, they will then either 1) be coming back or 2) give you good reviews so you get more business. Seems like Megu is thinking that they make a quick buck and... More
