When I first arrived, I couldn't help but feel apprehensive. But once inside the friendliness of the staff and then the great Louisiana style dishes made me imagine I was back in my favorite food town New Orleans. I had fried oysters wrapped in bacon with a roumalade sauce. They were tender and not greasy, and the sauce oh so... More

Ok... So this past weekend I was feeling a little nostalgic missing home (New Orleans). I've had cravings the past couple of weekends for a great bowl of gumbo, so the hunt was on to find an authentic Cajun restaurant in San Diego. After scouring the internet (TripAdvisor, Yelp, ChowHound, etc.), I found Bud's Louisiana Cafe. The reviews looked favorable,... More

Being a Louisiana native, I have learned the hard way not to eat Louisiana food when it is prepared outside of my home state because they just don't know how it's done. Well, in the case of Bud's Louisiana Cafe, they proved me wrong...and I have to thank other tripadvisor reviews for convincing me to go there for lunch today.... More

My boyfriend took me here for dinner when I said I wanted to try some cajun food. He has been before and has a mom from the south. He liked it so it must be okay I thought. When we pulled up, it was in an industrial park. This kind of threw me off and I was thinking how nice... More

Walking in alone, I was seated by the owner by a door in the back of the restaurant where staff were going in and out every few minutes. There were plenty of empty tables. So I got up and moved toward the window. I had been to their restaurant in their prior location and found it to be a hit... More

California cuisine with New Orleans flair and flavors. The service was fast & friendly and when a meal finishes with bananas foster creme brûlée it's hard to go wrong. Great value! The only drawback is the location...I only wish I had a restaurant that good in an light manufacturing area near me. More

Try the gumbo! Its smoky, savory and amazing. My wife and I tried a bowl of the gumbo, the shrimp creola and the pasta jambalaya. The main dishes were accompanied by little side salads that were also good. The shrimp creola was a bit mild, which concurred with the menu description, and the shrimp itself was perfectly cooked; not too... More
