Description: Taste of Italy opened on July 17, 2006 and has been a favorite, local restaurant & bar. Easily accessible via 5 freeway (Carmel Mountain road exit), it’s located in the new area of Del Mar/Sorrento Valley called Torrey Hills. It has both outdoor patio seating and fire pits, as well as a large indoor dining area filled with comfortable tables and booths. There is also a separate bar area that includes three U-shaped booths and one large couch ,so you can watch the Padres, Chargers or your favorite sports team on the two HDTVs . The bar offers top shelf spirits, an extensive wine selection and 6 Micro-brew beers on tap. Besides these great features, we also have wine lockers available to lease. The food has won awards for best Italian Restaurant. All of our sauces and dressings are home-made and some of our popular dishes include the shrimp scampi, Tequila Lime and Jalapeno Cream Sauce and the Chicken Marsala.

“Authentic and a great date place”

Service is good, wait staff are well informed. The food was good and because we were there in the early afternoon on a weekday, we had the patio to ourselves. The only drawback is the location, which is in a neighborhood strip mall, of sorts. Otherwise, quite nice. More

“Very good traditional Italian food”

I eat here mostly for lunch. Their lunch special is a great deal. Very good traditional Italian food. Dinner is also very good. Good choice in Carmel Valley area More
