Speakeasy booths with a button to call for service - you can play gangster and moll while waiting for yoru food, has had uneven food and service, but still a very interesting place to stop for something different. A bit out of the way but again worth it for the experince! More

Let me preface this review. I grew up in north Topeka and went to Plantation Steakhouse all my life. I WANT the new owners to SUCCEED. First of all, Plantation was known in my house for the fantastic and huge onions rings. The new owners put on the menu "Famous Onion Rings", which got me drooling in anticipation. The new... More

Very disappointed...the steak was a decent cut, but was cooked on a flat top (no spices little flavor). The lobster macaroni was good, but the rest was just ok. We had to ask for the complementary rolls. An hour later my mouth has a nasty grease coating. Six tables (one was an eight top) around us were unbused the whole... More

We loved the old plantation. We were thrilled to hear it had reopened, we drove an hour and a half. The parking lot waa full when we arrived. We waIted 45 minutes to be seated. It was all down hill from then on. The appitizer took about 30 min. The salads rolls and meals took over an hour. The waitress... More

We used to go to plantation steakhouse all the time before it got shut down, we always got great prompt service and had delicous food. However our experience with the reopen was not even close to what we were used to. We called and made a reservation so we wouldnt have a wait, we were seated within 3 minutes. We... More

Opening night we expected to wait. The barmaid was great to visit with. After being seated it took the waitress 13 minutes to come see us. We ordered an appetizer expecting it would take awhile to get our meal...30 minutes later our waitress came to check on us...no appetizer, no water, no food. We left so we can't rate the... More

In all fairness, I grew up going to this place so there is a certain sense of nostalgia for me. The decor is straight from the 1970's. It's practically a time warp going in there. The booths are individual with a call-button and a curtain that closes. Most of the menu is so-so. It's no Morton's or Capital Grille, but... More

This was the worst prime rib ever. My wife' s filet was gristly and tasteless. The accompanying onion soup was a 2 out of 10. The standard midwestern iceberg lettuce salad was ok. Dressing came in a "plastic to go container". The veggies were right out of the freezer. Altogether the meal was awful. More

This was a cool spot my husband and I close the curtain.. you have button to ring when you are ready to order or if you need anything.. i thought the french soup was pretty good... such a cozy place... candle lit ... Only bad thing would be the kids that were next door playing their ipod outloud on a... More

It was dark in the eating area. The famous french onion soup I don't recommend. The salad was watered down. The steak I had was OK, not the claimed best steak in Topeka. I have to say I wasn't all that impressed. More
